Updated: May 03, 2007.
I would like to point out that I am slowly going through all the fics that have comments stating I don't remember what they're about and reading them over again. You'll notice that some of the comments have already been changed. It's a semi-slow process because I have other things to do and other stories I would like to read. Hang in there.
This is my recs page. Here you will find a list of fics I loved, a list of archives I frequent, a list of people I can't live without (at least fic wise) and a list of Y!Groups that shouldn't be missed. Scroll down for more. My comments for each fic are in bold under each fic summary. If anyone has a fic they've either read or written, send me a link (or a file if it's one of your own but not published, .doc and .txt are fine) and I'll check it out. If I like it, I'll rec it here on the site. All broken links should be reported to me at email@example.com. The TSS links have been fixed, as the archive has returned. There are now three of them and I have added the links to the two new archives as well. The Kimberjingle links have all been fixed, as her new site is up and running. Any other links which come up as broken are just that, broken. There is at least one story on this list that I can no longer find (there's a note next to it) but refuse to remove. Also, frogslayr's site is gone and the fics with it. I'll see about finding the stories again or emailing the author if I need to. If you know an alternate link to a story whose link is broken, email me and let me know and I'll change it. Some of the archives that these stories are linked to require you to be a member to read them. There are also author sites that are linked to that require you to send an age statement to receive the password to enter. Providing you're of age, there's nothing to worry about. As for the archives, they are all free. The two I can think of off the top of my head (at least that are linked here) are Forever Fandom and Restriced Section. I promise you that the stories linked at these archives are well worth reading, so if you haven't already, you should join them. Having said all that, on to the recs.
These fics are listed alphabetically unless there's a sequel. Said sequel will be posted directly after the fic. Right, did you understand that? I would also like you to understand that all of these fics were written pre-HBP so they are, technically, AU after the events of the sixth book.
31 Flavours - Diana Wiliams
RL/SS - NC-17 - Remus Lupin and Severus Snape have been together for almost a year. Their relationship is comfortable, the sex is good...and yet...Lupin yearns for something more. So he persuades his lover to try something new, something kinky: 31 days of being someone "different", courtesy of polyjuice potion. 31 days of new partners, and new kinks...
Deirdra's Comments: I haven't finished reading this yet, but I've gotten more than halfway through the 'flavours'. I will tell you that you will have to type the links into the URL bar because the links Diana has for each chapter are wrong. You have to add flavours/whicheverflavour.htm to her site address. The first chapter's URL would look like this: http://diana.slashcity.com/flavours/prologue.htm You can see what the file names are by hovering over each link and from there you can just put the file name in the same URL as the other chapters, just with the file name changed. I don't know if that made sense to anyone other than myself, but I'll make sure to email her and let her know that the links are wrong. Very good story, though some of the 'flavours' were most definitely not my cuppa.
Life More Ordinary – Lexin
HP/SS – R - Snape is told some bad news, and it goes downhill from there. MPREG.
Deirdra's Comments: I'm going to be honest and say that I haven't read this one in quite a while and I don't precisely remember what happens. I do know, that Snape gives birth to his and Harry's child. There's a lot more to it, but I can't tell you what, since I haven't read it recently and I don't have the time to read it anytime soon. It got to me, like most of the stories on this page, and I would recommend you read it if you get the time.
A Mile in His Shoes - Sansa
HP/DM - NC-17 - It's ten years after the war and a chance meeting on a small island changes Draco and Harry from who they've become into who they want to be.
Deirdra's Comments: This one is really cute. Draco goes to an island for a vacation filled with hiking and seeing the sites. Somewhere he can blend in and no one will recognize him. It just so happens that Harry lives on said island and has for years. They end up getting involved in each other's lives, though not in each other, and eventually come together sexually. Of course, the sweetest part is at the end when Draco lets go of his fear and follows Harry someplace he generally would never tread. You'll have to read it to find out just where that is.
New Darkness - lilysunshine
HP/DM - NC-17 - When it is revealed that everything Harry thought was true about his life has been a lie, what will he do? A new darkness is spreading, and the world will be sorry they ever crossed the Boy-Who-Lived.
Deirdra's Comments: Oh my, what can I say about this one? I really enjoyed it immensely. I have a thing for evil, dark Harry. Especially when he turns his back on everything he's been 'taught' to believe in. I use the word 'taught' lightly, seeing as he was thrust into a world he never knew existed then told what was right and what was wrong as far as beliefs.
Nick in Time - Tira Nog
HP/SS - PG-13 - Cautious Snape sleeps with his wand under his pillow and awakes to unforeseen results.
Deirdra's Comments: For some reason I haven't really been into Snarry a lot lately, but this is still one of my favorites. I've read it twice and I love it just as much every time I think of it.
Pains - Tira Nog
HP/SS - Sequel to A Nick in Time - NC-17 - Harry Potter and Severus Snape attempt to find friendship after their restoration to adulthood.
Deirdra's Comments: Same goes for this one, though I actually read this one before I read 'A Nick in Time' because it was posted first. I have also read this one twice and I must say both are very good reads. I love when HP characters are sent back to their childhoods, even if it's not through time, but through a spell or potion.
Thousand Beautiful Things - Duinn Fionn
HP/DM - R - Draco Malfoy struggles with changed fortunes, shifted alliances, an ugly war, and an unusual spell, with the help of a concerned professor, an insightful house-elf, and an unexpected Gryffindor friend.
Deirdra's Comments: Sweet Merlin, I love this fic. It is one of the few that made me sit back and think. Most stories that I like are just mediocre and I'm settling for liking them because, well, out of everything available, they're the most bearable. But this one, along with a few others that are also on this list, made my breath catch and my heart ache.
Sound of Thunder - Duinn Fionn
HP/DM - Sequel to A Thousand Beautiful Things - R - Draco knows that happily ever after is for fairy tales. When someone threatens to expose his wartime past, he risks his life to protect his secrets, but learns he's not the only one with something to hide.
Deirdra's Comments: Although I loved the first one, and I like this one very much, I liked 'A Thousand Beautiful Things' more. Don't get me wrong. This one is written well, it's very good in terms of the story itself, but I liked the first one more. I can't explain why. But I do love this one as well.
Thousand Words - Bleudiablo
HP/SS - NC-17 - When his dorm-mates find a sketch of Harry fantasy lover they beat him and he is found by a Slytherin. With HP/DM friendship, mentions of rape and beatings.
Deirdra's Comments: -Sighs.- Oh. My. God. Now, you may wonder why anyone would read this. Ok. I admit to having a bit of adverse feelings toward Gryffindors. This fic (yes, I know it's not real people) reinforced those feelings. I love this fic. I love it so much, I've read it more than once. Of course, I've read most on this list more than once.
A Year Like None Other - aspeninthesunlight
No Pairing - PG-13 - It all started with a letter from home and family. Except, Harry doesn't really have either, does he? He's about to get them. A Snape-adopts-Harry-and-Draco story providing an alternate 6th year.
Deirdra's Comments: I honestly enjoyed this story. I waited for over a year for it to be finished, and when it finally was, it was over 700,000 words. It took me over a week to read it because, of course, the second I sat down to read it, other shit kept popping up that I had to do. But, I did finally finish it. I believe the author is writing a summer fic and possibly a seventh year fic as well. I'm not sure, but I do know A Summer Like None Other is a few chapters in at skyehawke, even if I won't read it until it's finished. Take the time to read this, even if in small sections.
- Nita Riddle
HP/DM implied - R - Draco Malfoy was sent to Headmaster Dumbledore's office by Snape. Dumbledore left young Draco to write down his problem on a piece of parchment so he does.
Deirdra's Comments: Ok, as you will find out when you get down the list, I'm not a Ron/Draco person. -Gags.- But this fic and it's companion called out to my Evil!Harry craving and I had to give them a chance. Needless to say, I loved them both.
- Nita Riddle
HP/DM implied, DM/RW implied - R -Darkfic. Ron Weasley is a man who believed the best about his best friend until he heard about something terrible happened and he learned that the reality of any situation is worse than the denial about it.
Deirdra's Comments: This story is darker than 'Abused' and is longer. Actually, 'Abused' is more of a letter, this one is a story. It's violent and doesn't have a happy ending. Just a warning for all you fluffers out there. Personally, I'm not a huge fluff fan...
All I Ever Wanted - Samael
HP/DM - NC-17 - The aftermath of a drunken night of half forgotten lust complicates Harry and Draco's lives as memories and desires long supressed begin to surface. Warning. Angst-driven, mystery, considerable sexual content and conflict.
Deirdra's Comments: Harry and Draco get drunk at a party. Harry and Draco fall into bed together and fuck. Harry and Draco wake up the next morning hungover and can't remember a thing about what happened the night before. Harry and Draco try to deny any feelings for each other, but at the end of the week, their memories decide it's time to surface. Pretty good story. I liked it.
HP/SS - NC-17 - After Voldemort is defeated on Harry's eighteenth birthday, the Headmaster makes a deathbed request: that Harry and Snape spend the anniversary of that victory alone together, every year, until they are magically released from the obligation. This is the story of the seven anniversaries that follow, and of the mutual animosity that was transformed into something altogether unexpected.
Deirdra's Comments: This story amused me to no end. Leave it to Albus to do something so spectacularly sneaky as his dying wish. Trust me. Read it. You'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll want to strangle the barmy old coot even though he's already dead.
Appearances - twistedmiracle
HP/DM - NC-17 - The Dark Lord is gone, Lucius is finally out of prison, and the Malfoy name is in the toilet. But Lucius knows just how to redeem it....
Deirdra's Comments: You know, I have to honestly say that I'm not thrilled with how Draco acts, and is treated, in this story. But, and this is a big but, it fits with how he has been raised in this story. Of course, both Harry and Draco are supposed to be 30 throughout Appearances, but I can't honestly see them at that age, considering how both act and what happens. To me, they still seem to be teenagers, or possibly in their early to mid twenties. I just couldn't see a 30 year old Draco allowing Lucius, who is a shadow of his former self, to control him. No matter how he feels about family loyalty. However, it is a small price to pay in the grand scheme of things, and pays off in Draco's favour in the end. Everything is for a reason, you know. I highly recommend this story to anyone who loves to see Draco scheme, but also likes an angsty romance where neither of the people involved know quite how deeply their feelings for each other go.
Appointed - C Dumbledore
HP/DM - NC-17 - Voldemort appoints 12 students to aid in the planned siege on Hogwarts. Lucius is dead, Draco is Lord Malfoy. The boys get hurt but find.... well, it's a h/d slash after all.
Deirdra's Comments: I just recently read this one. It was very good, sometimes drawn out, but still good. I'm a sucker for Draco/Harry, can you tell?
Life - empathic siren - Broken Link
HP/DM, HP/SS, DM/OC, HP/OC - NC17 - It’s after the war and Harry, Draco and Severus are left to muddle through. All three work as operatives for a covert Ministry special forces unit and, after a dramatic beginning, find themselves in L.A. battling a power-hungry squib, an obsessive vampire with too much time on his hands, and the inevitability of attraction.
Deirdra's Comments: Oi, I love this one. Just read it a few days ago and I swear I wanted to fold, spindle and mutilate Sev for being so pigheaded. It originally started as a short one-shot and somehow evolved into a multi-chaptered fic. I skimmed over the original after reading this one and, though it was good, you don't have to read it at all to get this story. -Shrugs.- Read it if you like, it can be found on the author's profile at the same archive. (Click the author's name and it will take you to their profile.)
Act – DistressedMoonchild
HP/DM/LM – R - Loneliness and Draco teach Harry the concept of compromise.
Deirdra's Comments: Gods, I love the Malfoys. Ok, the gist of this one is that Harry is in love with Draco, Draco leaves him for his father, Harry can't stand it, Lucius explains to Harry that Draco just can't be without him for more than a certain period of time and always ends up leaving his lovers eventually for his father, they offer Harry a compromise and, after finally pulling his head out of his arse, he seriously considers it. I liked it, obviously. Of course, I like just about any story involving Harry, Draco and Lucius, as long as Draco and Lucius aren't just 'sharing' Harry. They must also share each other, damnit! I read a story like that once, where they were both sleeping with Harry, but not each other. Do you see that one on this list anywhere? No, you don't, damnit.
Beauty in Song – carawen
HP/SS – PG-13 - Harry leaves notes for Sev on his homework. "I just want you to know who I am." -- Iris
Deirdra's Comments: Gods, I can't tell you how much I love this story! It touched me so much that I searched for it forever after having read it once. Back when I read it the first time, I wasn't yet bookmarking stories I had read that I loved. I do now, but back then I hadn't thought to do it. So I searched, but couldn't remember the name of it. Then, one day, I was helping a friend look for a story at ETC that was Harry/Severus and I came across this one again. I sent her the link, even though it wasn't what she was looking for, and she told me she'd already read it and that she loved it too. Let me just say that all the pieces of various songs that the author had Harry use were spot on. I couldn't have done this fic any better, not that I would try. It's a work of art and I will forever come back and read it, as long as it's on the web.
Beg Me For It -
DM/RW - Series
Beg Me For It - NC-17 - Ron tells the story of just exactly how he wound up working for the Death Eaters. Lucius asks Ron for a favour.
Sex, Drugs and Death Eater Rock - NC-17 - A Malfoy doesn't say 'thank you' even for saving his life. Instead, he pays the favour back. On his own terms. And in Draco's case. very, very creatively.
Hey You - R - Captured by the Death Eaters and working for Lucius' Ministry of Magic, Ron and Draco plot its downfall. 'Hey you. Don't help them to bury the light. Don't give in, without a fight.'
Scarred - PG-13 - After being freed from the Death Eaters, those who tried to place Ron's old life back in his hands didn't understand: Ron didn't belong in that old life anymore. "Well, surprise, surprise. I never figured you for the 'let's shock everyone' type."
SNAFU - NC-17 - "Never cut off a man's escape route. unless you want to see just how hard he can fight." Dumbledore's forces hit the Death Eater's Ministry of Magic. After a year in prison, Ron and Draco are ready. (Mostly.) Ron's plan is set into motion.
Stand in the Ruins - PG-13 - The aftermath of the battle for the Ministry. "So deja vu. Here I am again on the steps of the Ministry, for the first time in eight months. And all we've done together, all of it, is running through my mind. Crazy as it all sounds, I wouldn't change a thing."
Celebrate Life - NC-17 - A bubble of peace before Ron and Draco have to face freedom. Reunions and choices.
Deirdra's Comments: Gah. As I briefly mentioned before, I am NOT a Ron/Draco person. To tell you the truth, this is the only series of stories with that pairing (along with one short story near the end of this list that amused me and my sick mind, you'll know it when you get there) that I could actually stomach. I find this series to be quite amusing and, shock upon shock, quite hot. I loathe this pairing and any sexual situation involving Weasleys in general (all that red hair and freckles turns my stomach) but this one is definitely worth reading.
Than Life – Ayla Pascal
HP/SS – NC-17 - Harry could have never guessed the repercussions of drinking the Better Than Life potion.
Deirdra's Comments: Twists and turns, Harry goes to an 'alternate dimension' and realizes there's nothing better than the life he already has.
Big Dick, Come Quick - Calanthe
HP/DM - NC-17 - Draco’s got a theory. About sex. And after much searching for the right candidate, it appears that only Harry Potter, his life long enemy, can help him test it out.
Deirdra's Comments: I found this story to be very well written and a very good read. I think it could have gone on longer, not because it was too short, but because I would have liked to have seen what happened past what was written. Then again, I do have an imagination, so I'll be ok. The sex was hot. Hotter than hot. Definitely worth the read.
- LinW aka nestinghedwig
HP/SS - R - What does the future hold for a savior who has fallen from grace?
Deirdra's Comments: Oh yes, another Snarry worth reading. Recently read by me and oh-so-wonderful, this fic takes Snarry to a new level. I swear, there's nothing like denial and procrastination to set the reader on edge. Can we say stubborn? (Ok, so there really isn't much procrastination, unless you count how long it takes for the two of them to acknowledge how they really feel and do something about it.) Just read it to get what I mean.
– Anna Fugazzi
HP/DM – R - It seems 95% of H/D writers feel compelled to write a "Harry And Draco Are Forced To Be Together By Something Beyond Their Control And Then Unlikely Stuff Happens That Leads To Twoo Wuv" story. Count me among the 95% ;) “And then they were facing each other, and their voices were rising, and Harry kept thinking No, and Damn it, and Why can't I just keep my mouth shut, and This isn't going to go anywhere good, and I'm going to lose him...”
Deirdra's Comments: You know I generally don't read anything that's a WIP, nor do I pimp it (Surrender the Grey was an exception), but this story got me. I found it on Fiction Alley at first and thought is was complete so I read it. There are only ten chapters posted there and when I got to the end of chapter 10 I was like, “What the FUCK?!” So I went to her profile and found out she had an lj, where I eventually found the link to her FF.net profile. Needless to say, I went there to check it out and, low and behold, there were 16 chapters there, not 10. So, I did what I always do in that situation; I emailed her and asked her when and if her story would be finished. She was very nice and emailed me back, letting me know there would only be about 20 chapters total and that she would be posting every one or two weeks. I thanked her and continued reading. So far, and this might change by the time any of you read this comment, there are 18 chapters posted. I love this story. I really do. It's great. Funny, angsty, completely fucked at some parts (not because she writes badly, but because things that happen in it are fucked on purpose), and all around excellent. Trust me, read it.
Bottoms Up - Aucta Sinistra
HP/SS - NC-17 - Er . Harry-in-disguise encounters Snape-on-holiday?
Deirdra's Comments: Right, so I read this one over and I liked it a lot. Harry has disappeared after Voldemort's defeat and now owns a gay bar. Severus walks in one night with Draco Malfoy and they both bitch about Harry. Harry thinks he's been found then realizes they're just complaining. Draco hits on Sev, Sev tells him, not so kindly, that he would never fuck him, then Draco stomps off in a huff. Like a ponce. Yeah. Severus and Harry get to talking and Harry buys him a drink. Sev goes back every night and has a drink with Harry. It's not very long, but it is very good. Don't worry, the little bit I've told you won't ruin the story. Worth the time to check out.
Bound - MiaSnape
HP/SS - R - Ron accidentally binds Harry and Snape in a state of magical matrimony.
Deirdra's Comments: You know, I must say, this story is quite cute. It's told from Harry's point of view, in narrative form. It's very easy to follow, and I'll tell you, a sequel from Sev's point of view would actually be welcome and quite amusing. All of the feelings were Harry's and what Harry thought Sev felt throughout the few years the story chronicles. I'm not saying you have no idea what Severus is feeling, Harry describes it quite nicely, but it wouldn't be a hardship for me to read Sev's view points on their life together. Don't get me wrong, if a sequel is never written, or a companion piece with Sev telling the story, I would still be happy. But, you know, I would be happier. No matter what, I'll still be content with this story.
HP/DM – NC-17 - To escape a worse fate, Draco requests to be bound - but it doesn't go as expected.
Deirdra's Comments: Ok, so I read this one over. It took me a few days because I have so much other shit to do, but I finally just finished it. The comment I previously had up was wrong. This isn't the story, or the author, that had two stories with similar plots and events. I'm looking into which author and stories those are because, even though they have similarities, I still liked them. Anyhow, I loved this story. There's mpreg, so if you don't like it, I wouldn't suggest reading it. Of course, it's not detailed. A cute little story about Draco and Harry coming together, yadda yadda yadda. They do come together a bit quickly, and their feelings for each other aren't exactly explained well at first (in fact, it seems as if Harry hates him, but you find out a few chapters later that Harry likes him. It's odd) but a good story altogether. I would definitely read it again, she writes well.
The-Boy-Who-Lived - Markey
HP/SB, HP/Various - NC-17 - Harry uses sex to sell products on the wizard home-shopping network. What? It could happen.
Deirdra's Comments: Despite my loathing of all stories Harry/Sirius, I love this story. It made me laugh and, I must say, it was hot. Just the idea of Harry working that job made me drool. Lol. Very good story, even if you can't stand the thought of Harry and Sirius together.
The Boy Who Lived a Bit - anal_cram_ink
HP/SS - NC-17 - Post-Hogwarts, though the War still rages. Harry is holed up at 12 Grimmauld Place with Lupin as his primary protector. Some of the best distractions in these days are provided by one Severus Snape.
Deirdra's Comments: I really liked this story. It was pointed out to me by my beta, Bookgirl. The sequel is also good.
Care of Magical Teenagers - anal_cram_ink
HP/SS - Sequel to The Boy Who Lived a Bit - NC-17 - The War is finally over. Now Severus and Harry have yet another battle before them - how to carry on their relationship when the whole world wants to marry Harry Potter.
Deirdra's Comments: I swear these two stories were most excellent. Draco throws a wrench into things, but nothing serious. And by that I mean it's not detrimental to Harry and Severus' relationship.
My World - charlottesometimes
HP/DM - NC-17 - Rampaging hormones lead to an adventure between Harry and Draco that changes everything.
Deirdra's Comments: You know, I love this one. Funny story. I used to chat with the author, rp with her occasionally, and I sat down to read this fic one day completely unaware of who wrote it. I hadn't bothered to look at the author's name before I dove right in. By the time I got to the fifteenth chapter, I was laughing my arse off saying, "Damn, this Malfoy is written just like Char plays him." Needless to say, I looked up at the author's name on the top of the page and what did it say? -Points to author's name.- I rest my case. Goes to show you how well I pay attention, hmm? Great fic, I love it. It's a very realistic look at two straight boys who get involved with each other then realize they may not be so straight after all.
HP/DM - Sequel to Change My World - NC-17 - After a week apart where Harry is stuck with the Dursleys and Draco has been cooped up with the Order, the boys reunite and try to deal with their new lives.
Deirdra's Comments: Ok. I admit to not having read this one yet. But I know her writing (I've read most everything else she's written) and I read the first one and loved it, so I figured I would love this one as well. I know it's well written and whatnot, I just haven't gotten around to actually checking it out. Just go read it, dolls, you know you want to.
Closer Than You Think - Dayse
HP/Surprise - NC-17 - Harry receives an unwelcome late night visitor as he lies awake in bed, but his would be attacker turns out to be the last person he expects.
Deirdra's Comments: I'm not going to tell you who the person is that Harry is with, because that would ruin the story. You may be quite uncomfortable with the story as it progresses, it's technically rape, but hang in there. At the very end you find out who the other person is, and then it kind of makes it so that the rape is not really rape at all. Not very long, which is rare for me, seeing as I usually don't read anything under 10,000 words, but an interesting read. I recommend it to anyone who will listen. I'm still trying to figure out why I never rec'd this when I first read it, years ago.
Come What May - The_Minx_17
HP/DM, HP/SS, Implied HP/SS/DM - NC-17 - Pushed into a corner Severus Snape handles it the only way he knows how… he kills Albus Dumbledore. Harry Potter returns to the castle determined to find the power to kill not only Voldemort but also the man who took his mentor away from him, Severus Snape. Instead, he overhears a damning conversation between two people he trusted. Finally using his innate Slytherin cunning, he digs deeper and finds not everything is as it appears. Will it change his loyalties or just the way he fights?
Deirdra's Comments: I truly liked this story. Harry and Draco become friends quickly, but in a believable way. Severus gets thrown in near the end because of extenuating circumstances, but is loved no less for it. It's HBP compliant and begins the summer after Harry and Draco's sixth year. Harry is at the castle for the summer, and he learns a few disturbing things. He has a lot of common sense and is not too quick to trust, so I found it a very enjoyable read.
Courtship Rituals - Meri
HP/SS - R - Snape is ordered to court Harry Potter.
Deirdra's Comments: Voldemort orders Sev to court Harry. Throughout the whole process, they -know- it's fake, but somewhere along the line they begin to take it seriously. They begin to fall in love. Once Voldemort is defeated, Dumbledore does all he can to prevent the ritual from being completed, the fucking prick, but they go behind his back. Yeah, you should read this one, too.
Courtship of Harry Potter - Diana Williams
HP/SS - NC-17 - Another teacher's interest in Harry Potter forces a reluctant Snape to compete for the young man affections.
Deirdra's Comments: Another by Diana Williams. I love almost everything she writes, seriously. I haven't read this one in a while, but like others I've mentioned since I've updated, this one has been moved to the top of the list after Loving Potions. I do remember that I enjoyed it, regardless of what else I can't remember. When I've read it again, I'll update the comment.
Dark Angel - Eriador117
HP/SS - NC-17 - Dumbledore's methods to ensure Harry's safety after the defeat of Voldemort do more harm than good.
Deirdra's Comments: I really liked this story. You know, I have so many stories by this author bookmarked to read, and I never get the chance to read them because I end up reading something else and I forget they're there. I'm sure they're all as good as this one, and I'll try to make the time to read them in the near future. Anyhow, this one was awesome. Very angsty, kind of dark. You should give it a read.
Chocolate - Dianann
HP/SS - NC-17 - Much Angst - Snape takes Harry on as a seventh year apprentice...but it isn't what it seems.
Deirdra's Comments: Gah, this one was so good, I wanted to strangle the author. You see, when I read it, there wasn't a sequel to my knowledge. So I was left there with this horrible feeling in my gut saying, "I would so have thrown myself off the top of the Astronomy Tower had it been me."
Chocolate - Dianann
HP/SS, SS/DM - Sequel to Dark Chocolate - NC-17 - Harry’s been missing for six years. Where has he been? What mess did he leave behind, and has no choice but to return to?
Deirdra's Comments: OMG. Read. But read 'Dark Chocolate' first or you'll be at a loss as to what the fuck is going on. So good.
HP/DM - NC-17 - Seventh Year. Harry doesn't show up for the Hogwarts train and is missing. There was an incident in Surrey. Everyone knows that Voldemort is wanting Harry more than ever due to a discovery of what Harry could give him which is immortality. A situation with Harry's vision plays a major role along with the two years of school he's sadly missed due to special classes in survival and defense training. Dark secrets of the Malfoys are revealed and will the bespectacled hero live to see another day, a graduation or plans for any type of future when other evils threaten?
Deirdra's Comments: Now, Kimberjingle is one of my favorite fic authors. Out of the six fics she has on her site that are finished, I loved three and liked one. I hated two. Ooooh. This the one I liked. It's very good, but there is some drug use, non-permanent death, threesomes and the like. Read at your own risk.
Depths of Winter - Cosmic
HP/DM - R - Four years after getting out of Hogwarts, Harry lives alone in the Muggle world. He has turned his back on the magical world – until one day, when Draco Malfoy gets into a car crash before Harry’s eyes and ends up paralysed in a wheelchair.
Deirdra's Comments: I love seeing persistent Harry and belligerent Draco together again. It warms my heart to see poor Harry finally turning his back on the world that used him so horribly. And, of course, Draco turns his world upside down when he literally crashes into it. Gods, so good. There is one scene which you can either choose to read the PG-13 version of events or the R/NC-17 version. This means sex, y'all.
Di Catenas - Draeconin
HP/DM - R - Ignorance can be troublesome, especially when it comes to marriage customs.
Deirdra's Comments: I read this one a long time ago. I thought it was cute. But Harry's not as stupid as you think he is.
Tamer - Jennavere
HP/DM - R - To avoid an arranged marriage, Draco gets Harry to be his boyfriend. Outrageously shallow plot? Check. Superstar!Harry and Draco behaving badly? You bet. Absolute mayhem and craziness? Oh yes. Pack your compass, because it’s a wild ride.
Deirdra's Comments: I have one thing to say to you about this fic. Draco Malfoy, singing and dancing to Madonna's 'Like a Virgin' after transfiguring a fork at the Gryffindor table into a fluffy bunny named Draco Lucius Malfoy the Third, or DLM for short. Nuff said.
Lover – Eeyore9990
HP/DM – NC-17 - When dreams become reality, will our favorite boys have the strength and courage to remain with each other despite their history?
Deirdra's Comments: I just finished this one. I liked it a lot. It's a bit peaky here and there, but it gets to the point quickly. There definitely could have been a little more detail and info throughout the whole story, it could have been longer, but it works how it is. I wouldn't have added it to this list if I didn't like it, after all.
Made – Eeyore9990
HP/DM – Companion to Dream Lover, Draco's POV – PG - Draco visits Lucius, set in between Chapter 13: A New Day and the Epilogue.
Deirdra's Comments: It's not necessary to read this along with Dream Lover, but I'm sure you wonder, as I did, how well Draco really takes his father's punishment. Needless to say, though short, it was worth reading along with the story.
Lucius – VL Red Reign
HP/DM – Companion to Dream Lover, Lucius' POV – PG-13 - Lucius awaiting execution, ruminates on his life.
Deirdra's Comments: As with the one before, it's not necessary to read this with Dream Lover, but it gives you a bit of insight into Lucius. Well written and can be read as a stand-alone.
HP/DM/LM – NC-17 - Lucius has exceedingly erotic dreams, and talks in his sleep. His son and lover decides to bring the object of his dream, one Harry Potter, into their bed.
Deirdra's Comments: As the summary says, Lucius and Draco are lovers. Lucius begins to have dreams of Draco and Harry together, though he doesn't really know why. Draco is the...aggressor in the relationship with his father. He gets very jealous when he hears his father talking in his sleep and...ok, I can't really remember what happens, but I do know Draco invites Harry to join them when he gets the wrong idea. Lucius wants to watch them together....they all eventually get together...I think. Good story, doesn't just have the Malfoys sharing Harry. Good things.
The Dream Verse - Willysunny
HP/DM - R - Do you believe in fate or free will?
Deirdra's Comments: There are a total of 8 stories, the first one is the longest and is chaptered. It begins at Hogwarts, which is story 1. The stories after that are scattered over the years after Hogwarts, between when Draco left and when they find their ways back to each other. A failed marriage, an understanding Hermione, Harry being an asshole, again, and many other things that make up this story and caused me to like it.
Folly – DementorDelta
HP/SS – R - Snape must court Harry according to wizarding traditions.
Deirdra's Comments: Albus dies and leaves something in his will for both Harry and Severus. He makes it nearly impossible for them to get around it, yadda yadda yadda. That man continues to be manipulative even after death. Lol. They everntually end up falling in love, but it takes them a lot to get there. I don't remember the specifics, but I do know they were forced into a situation they hate at first then get used to over time.
Escapology - ChaCha Chica
HP/SS - NC-17 - Severus has to house Harry at Christmas, only it gets far more complicated...
Deirdra's Comments: You know, I really did like this story. Lately, I've not been too into Snarry (you'll never catch me calling it that loathsome name again), but I did like this one. I found it within the past week and read it while I was away at my grandmother's house for the week (trust me, there's nothing else to do. She works from 3 to 11, leaves at 2:30, doesn't get home until almost midnight, and I'm stuck there by myself). Harry is pregnant and goes to Snape's for Christmas. No one knows he's pregnant. Now, I should say there's HP/DM, but it's in the past, happened at least eight and a half months prior to where the story begins, and Draco is dead. So, yeah. Which is why I didn't mention it with the summary. It means nothing. I recommend this with the highest praise. Well, not the highest, but some praise. My highest praise is reserved for stories like 'Left My Heart' and 'A Thousand Beautiful Things'.
Flavour Beans - Erin LaCroix
HP/DM, HP/LM - NC-17 - Lucius uses Polyjuice to pretend he is Draco. While at Hogwarts he finds out that his son is involved with Harry Potter. The more time Lucius spends around Potter, the more he falls for the boy. Then, during sex, Lucius reverts back to his actual self, how does Harry take the news? What does Lucius do to keep from losing Harry?
Deirdra's Comments: Sneaky Lucius, clueless Harry, meddling Dumbledore and oblivious Draco. Another great Lucius/Harry, though it doesn't begin that way, it just ends that way.
Expecting - Titti
SS/SB - R - Severus finds out he is carrying Sirius's child.
Deirdra's Comments: This story is quite short. It doesn't really explain anything and can actually be read at any time while reading the other two stories (meaning between each or after both).
Unlikely Fathers - Titti
SS/SB, HP/DM - Sequel to Expecting - NC-17 - When Sirius finds out that he's the father of Severus' daughter, he learns that old feelings still exist. Resentments and twenty years of hatred are difficult to overcome.
Deirdra's Comments: I do so love this story. I feel I must mention though that, although the pairing of Harry/Draco is mentioned, it is most definitely secondary. There is some much needed Drarry in there, but the story focuses on Sev and Siri for the most part.
Sweet Arrival - Titti
SS/SB, HP/DM - Sequel to Unlikely Fathers - NC-17 - Severus and Sirius decide that it's time for a new addition to the family. Vicky, Remus, Harry and Draco are there through this journey.
Deirdra's Comments: Vicky really pissed me off in the previous story, and she pisses me off again in this one. She just doesn't know when to shut her big fucking mouth, I tell you. -Snorts.- I wanted to smack her more times than not. All three of these are more than worth reading.
of the Beholder - knightmare
HP/DM - NC-17 - Draco is blinded during the final battle with Voldemort. Now he has to learn how to live in darkness and with a persistent Harry Potter who won't leave him alone... Post Hogwarts.
Deirdra's Comments: Draco goes blind. Harry won't leave him the hell alone. Yeah, it's good.
Love - SilentAuror
HP, DM, SS, LM - NC-17 - A story about several men, all seeking something and what it means to find it. Slash; Harry, Severus, Draco, Lucius. Romance, angst, drama.
Deirdra's Comments: I really enjoyed this one as well. I know I say that about pretty much all of the fics on this page, and it does kind of go without saying seeing as I wouldn't rec something I didn't like, but it was quite good. I realize I didn't list the pairings, and it would be hard to tell seeing as I have just about every pairing possible from the four characters in other stories on this page in one way or another, but you have to read it to find out who ends up with whom.
Forsaken - ShivaniBlue
HP/DM - Wherein Dumbledore does the unforgivable, and is forsaken by his pawn.
Deirdra's Comments: I liked this story because it dealt with something I feel very strongly about. Discrimination against homosexuality. It contains an almost hate crime. Don't you worry your pretty little heads, Harry isn't actually harmed, at least not permanently. And he's not even harmed physically, just emotionally. He is betrayed by someone he never thought could, or would, betray him. On another note, he's no longer 'Harry'. Regardless of all that, it's an excellent story and well written, like all of ShivaniBlue's stories. There are a few more stories written by ShivaniBlue on this list, and the author's website is also linked in the Author Sites section of the page. Anything written by this author is worth reading and I'm still trying to work my way through the rest of the stories on their site.
HP/DM, HP/OMC, SS/OMC - NC-17 - Harry is fed up being the Golden Boy. He knows he has to defeat Voldi (or he could be dead) but his WHOLE world does not need to revolve around it. So, he either runs away from the Dursley's or Grimmauld Place one summer fed up with those muggles or whomever is there and when he returns he is no longer pretending to be someone he isn't. Draco is intrigued with the changes his enemy has gone through and is willing to do anything to be the first to try out that tongue ring and see what else the Golden Boy has done. Vernon goes postal, Harry goes AWOL. Hogwarts will never be the same!
Deirdra's Comments: This one is quite interesting. Harry doesn't start out with Draco but he does eventually end up with him. I did really like this one or I wouldn't have added it to my bookmarks. Lol. I have a tendancy to read this author's work and enjoy it immesely.
Ghost of a Memory - Phoenix Boy
HP/SS - G - After killing Voldemort, Harry leaves the wizarding world for a few years before joining the university under a different name. Now he returns to teach at Hogwarts.
Deirdra's Comments: I found this one to be quite good. It's very long. Harry and Draco are friends, but Harry isn't living as Harry, he's living as James and his appearance has changed. It's not a glamour, though. Draco doesn't know who he is, no one does, though a few key people figure out who he is. Severus doesn't find out who he is until after they're already together, and I'm sure you can guess what his initial reaction is. Yeah. Everything is ok in the end, though.
Thread of Trust - Marian
of the Faeries
HP/DM – NC-17 - (link to chapter index) The war is over. Harry is empty and Draco is lost in a whirlwind of emotions he can't handle. Can and will they help each other?
Deirdra's Comments: I went back and read this story again. Ok, so it was well written, and very good, but it just sort of....ends. I think a sequel would be very much appreciated for this one. Mainly because I want to find out what was behind Harry's door and what happens to Blaise when the boys turn him in and a bunch of other stuff that just wasn't mentioned. Too many loose ends need to be tied up in this one. Seriously. But it was good.
The Goodness of Their Hearts - Taratext
HP/DM - R - Malfoy Security Inc. is hired when Chudley Cannons' star Seeker Harry Potter starts receiving disturbing letters.
Deirdra's Comments: I found this story to be decent. There were things I didn't like about it, but nothing serious. I do find the idea of Draco running a security agency amusing, though, seeing as in fan fic it's usually Harry that does. I can't remember for sure, but I think that, though there is sex in it, it's not detailed. It doesn't really take away from the story, but it would have been interesting. Oh well, sex isn't everything, you know?
Inheritance – EverWinter
HP/DM – R or NC-17 - Harry discovers his heritage. He's Rich, Powerful, and now a Slytherin.
Deirdra's Comments: This story was very good. The reason I put both ratings, is because if you just read the version posted at FF.net, it's R, but you can get all the slash scenes for the story by emailing the author, which is what I did. It's worth it, but you don't need the sex to make it a good story. Definitely worth reading if you have some time.
Growing Pains - SensiblyTainted
HP/DM - R - The summer after Sirius' death: the abuse at the Dursley's leaves him broken. Snape is asked to try and help, and discovers that the key to saving Harry may be Draco, who has returned after his own difficult summer.
Deirdra's Comments: One of the only stories I've read with both Draco and Harry being changed into children. This one is a lot more angsty than Primary Care. In fact, Primary Care is a fucking Disney Movie compared to this one. In this universe, wizards and witches that are raped go insane and die. Harry was raped by Vernon the summer after his sixth year. In order to save him, Severus enlists Draco's help. The spell they've chosen goes wrong and both boys are sent back to age four. He and Harry, though they're not friends before the change, form an immediate bond with each other. Draco calls him 'Baby' and it's the cutest thing. The little blond protector. Harry is afraid of everyone but Draco and Severus, who takes to raising them like a duck to water. Even though he doesn't want to. Narcissa eventually enters the picture, and Harry never really trusts her. With good reason, the fucking whorebitchslut. I hate her in this story! Remus eventually shows up and Harry recognizes him and trusts him, but not until he's a little older. I believe they grow every seven days, and with every transformation, they remember another year of their lives. Very good story. Severus learns to love Harry as his son and Harry loves him as a father, even as he gets all his memories back.
Harry Potter and the Veela Promise - Mione5
HP/DM - R - The summer after Sirius' death is one of the hardest in Harry's short but eventful life. Upon his return to Hogwarts he finds out something that will make it even worse. Or will it?
Deirdra's Comments: Draco is part veela and Harry is his mate. Harry is addicted to Dreamless Sleep. Draco will die if Harry doesn't accept him. Harry will die if Draco doesn't help him. Excellent story.
The Heart of the Phoenix - daemonfamiliar
HP/DM - PG-13 - We all know the prophecy Harry has to fulfill. Either he kills Voldemort or Voldermort kills him? Simple enough, right? Well, there is one little line that Dumbledore 'accidentally' edited out of the memory in the Pensieve. Now that one line will either change Harry's life... end it.
Deirdra's Comments: Harry has to fall in love in order to vanquish Voldemort, but allowing anyone he loves to stand at his side when he faces the madman is against every fibre of his being. Unfortuantely, if he faces the Dark Lord alone, he will fail and die. Harry and Draco reach out to each other in their times of need and find love.
Hiding Under the Ninth Earth I Got Tired of Waiting
HP/SS - the continuing story of Severus Snape and Harry Potter, their relationship and life together. It's about the Muggle Wars. And it's about how two people, standing firm together, can change history.
Deirdra's Comments: This series includes Tying Up Loose Beginnings, A Bit of All Right, Epithalamium, All Through the Night and Walking a Fine Line. I have read three of the five (the first three), except the Epithalamium Epilogue, because I haven't gotten a chance yet, and they happen to be some of my favourite stories. A Bit of All Right was the first I read in this series, and I waited so long for Epithalamium. Draco and Lucius are more evil than even I could have written them in this, but I still love them, just not in this series. You should read it, most definitely. The link takes you to her main page, and you'll have to email her telling her you're of age before she'll give you her password. Stories other than hers are also housed at her site.
Express - Closet Skeleton
HP/DM - R - "Now boarding the Hogwarts Inter-dimensional Express. Please mind the gap."
Deirdra's Comments: I swear I cracked up during this fic. Most of it was serious, so I wasn't laughing the whole time, but the whole concept of the story amused me. It was a very good read and I would most definitely recommend it to anyone who was looking for something a little different. I believe a sequel is in the works as well.
Hogwarts Slash Series - Mystwriter
HP/DM - NC-17 - It’s after the war and Voldemort is defeated. Draco Malfoy has been forced to live as a Muggle after his trial two years ago, but when he runs into Harry Potter again, he finds unexpected hope from his former enemy. What will it take to get Malfoy on the right road…and will Harry ever tell him how he feels? With Harry’s first year teaching and the rebuilt Hogwarts ready to open, the past might be forgotten at last, but there are some who can’t let go and Harry may be in danger again.
Deirdra's Comments: So I started this story and I thought it was finished. But it wasn't. She finally finished it. Anyhow, it's really cute. Honest. The link provided is to the index page of her site. The stories are listed at the top of the page, each title is a story. All of her other stories are in other categories, so all the stories listed at the top of the page, excluding 'Correspondence', are the Slash Series. It's very cute, but I wanted to kill her when I read each story because something horrible always happened to Harry. And nothing small, either. Like, life changing, heart breaking, horrible things that you wish would never happen to poor little Harry. But, the series ends nice.
Holding On - Keikokin
HP/LM - NC-17 - Lucius is a Veela who's time is running out, for the second time!
Deirdra's Comments: You know, I read this one long ago. Then, I decided I wanted to read it again but I didn't know the name of it nor who wrote it. So, I decided to i/m a friend of mine (not a close friend, an acquaintance, if you will) and put her formidable Harry/Lucius knowledge to work. You see, this person has written more Lucius/Harry fics than any other author I've seen, and most of the fics I've read by her I've loved. So, I ask her if she can help and she promises to try, though she's convinced she won't be able to help me. Heh. I describe the story to her and, low and behold!, she wrote it. Now, I like this story because out of all the Lucius-is-a-Veela-and-Harry-is-his-mate stories, Harry isn't forced. In fact, Lucius is dying, and although he begs (Lucius begs!), still gives Harry the choice to either bond with him or let him die. Most of the Veela fics I've read where Harry is the mate of a Veela (most times a Malfoy), Harry is forced with no say and no choice, whether he likes it or not. (See Indago, though Draco's not a Veela in that fic, but he is a magical creature.) I just think it's nice that someone wrote Lucius as a nice Veela in a semi-believable way. (I say semi-believable because I'm convinced the man was born without a heart and, therefore, doesn't do nice. Ever.) Very good fic and worth reading.
Honour Bound - Draeconin
HP/DM - NC-17 - Lucius acquires a life debt. Draco pays.
Deirdra's Comments: I love this story. Lucius owes Harry a life debt and Harry asks for Draco as a...payment so he can save Draco's life. That's the only reason he does it, because Lucius, I think, has plans to give Draco to Voldemort as a sex toy. Yeah, so Harry binds Draco to him as a slave type/servant like/submissive partner in order to satisfy the debt and save the blond. As I said. I loved it.
Howl for Me - Savage Damsel
HP/SS - R - Saved from an attack by Death Eaters, Harry finds himself in the Forbidden Forest, being attacked by a beast known as a Jachyra. With Voldemort hot on Harry's heels, and new bonds being formed, it's time to end the war once and for all.
Deirdra's Comments: Even though I just read this one again recently, I find myself forgetting most of the details. I do remember that Harry is bitten by a lycanthrope, and that he 'bonds' with Remus, Severus and Draco. His bond with Remus is like father and son, with Draco they're like brothers (which Harry struggles with because of their past) and with Severus, it's sexual. Why? Because he's hot for teacher and has been for a while. -Snickers- Anyhow, he's a Jachyra.
Amethyst - Savage Damsel
HP/SS - R - Second story in the Jachyra Trilogy. WARNING! MPreg is mentioned in the last chapter, so consider yourselves forewarned.
Deirdra's Comments: I'll continue my comments here, since there's more than one story. Yeah, I know I should just do one comment for series like with Lost Feeling and Beg Me for It, but, yeah. I had a blonde moment. Shut it. Lol. The reason I did it this way, is that some of these series were only one story when I read them, then the author wrote more and the stories got added to the list as time went by. And some aren't series, per se, just stories that follow one another. Yes, I know what you're saying, that's what a series is. But if the series of stories doesn't have a name, who am I to give it one just to list it on my recs list? I'm not the author. Right, so back to the comments for Amethyst. As I said, don't remember much. Remus bonds with...-goes to look-...Ooooh, I'm not telling! Anyhow, Sev, Remus, Draco and Lucius spend the summer with Harry at Privet Dr. Voldemort is vanquished, thought not dead at the end of Howl for Me, but there's a new Darkness attempting to take over. Harry and the others face the darkness down and, in the end like we all know, are victorious. Draco is with the twins...funny, I thought I would be disgusted. Seems I wasn't. Lol.
Jachyra - Savage Damsel
HP/SS - R - Third story in the trilogy. MPreg which you knew if you read the first two parts, angst, and fluff, all in one. Enjoy!
Deirdra's Comments: Moving on to the third, and final, installment. Harry is pregnant. Yes, you heard me correctly. Of course, you would know that already if you read the second story all the way to the end. This story, and thus the trilogy, ends with the birthday of Harry and Severus' children. Yes, twins. The epilogue is the day of Aric and Ebon's fifth birthday. Think Fred and George Weasley, but miniaturized versions of Harry and Severus. Yeah, pranksters with the ability to lie and be sneaky, while at the same time serious and way to adorable to not look innocent. Not that anyone thinks they're innocent. This series is truly worth reading, though it does get to be a little much (read slow) in some parts. Providing you stick with it and get past those parts, I feel you will thoroughly enjoy this series.
HP/SS, mentions of SS/RB – NC-17 - Four meddling spirits offer one cranky Potions Master a Christmas gift of insight, and a second chance with the man he loves. A Snarry Christmas Carol.
Deirdra's Comments: This story was so cute. The mentions of Severus and Regulus are from Sev's past. It's one of the reasons he won't let himself love anyone. The 'spirits' that visit him are very well picked. They're logical when when thinking of HP characters in this type of story, but I've read a few like this and I like the spirits chosen in this one the most. Take some time out and give it a read, you'll enjoy it if you like HP and A Christmas Carol.
The Hunger - Firestorm17
HP/DM - NC-17 - Draco doesn't have to be drunk to sleep with Harry Potter, but it certainly helps.
Deirdra's Comments: The story is nothing that you would originally suspect. Very good. Harry should have been in Slytherin, but, then again, I didn't need to read this story to think that.
Indago - LdDurham
HP/DM - A missed potion reveals a secret about Draco and Snape and Harry finds out his own place in their sexually charged and animalistic hold. Will he be able to adjust to this final battle for a peaceful life?
Deirdra's Comments: Like with quite a few stories I see posted at archives as they slowly get completed, I waited many months to read this one. I can promise you that you will be outraged on Harry's behalf for 90% of the story, and rightfully so. I wanted to kill Lucius Malfoy more than once while reading this, and even Draco once or twice. Severus wasn't too bad, but he was still an arse. I think this story is one of the few I've actually read where Sev was so cannon it wasn't even funny. Of course, he wasn't completely cannon because, well, you'll see when you read. I warn you now that this story contains rape, violence, abuse, humiliation and mpreg. And not necessarily in that order. Lol. Worth reading.
Indago:Reborn - LdDurham
HP/DM - NC-17 - Harry and Draco are older and wiser... but still vulnerable.
Deirdra's Comments: I had to wait just as long for the sequel as I did for the original. The relationship between Draco and Harry is a little more stable than in Indago, and I heavily emphasize little, but they still run into problems. Severus is more of a main character in this one. He's around more. And I couldn't really tell you if by the end the three of them....yeah. I mean, not Draco and Sev, but Sev and Harry. I honestly can't remember that much, but I seem to think so...Anyhow, warnings for this one are pretty much the same as the last: rape, violence, abuse, brainwashing, mpreg, humiliation, mental and physical abuse, other than rape, violence and brainwashing. Not a happy story, but a good one.
HP/SS – NC-17 - A perhaps disturbing look at what one bitter man's obsession could lead to, and the unexpected results - but for whom?
Deirdra's Comments: Severus uses hypnosis to plant very naughty thoughts in Harry's head. Harry eventually finds out and gets him back for it then forgives him. They build a relationship after everything that happens. Voldemort is vanquished somewhere in there.
- Silent Auror
HP/DM - NC-17 - Harry is in the throes of sixth-year angst and discovers, to his dismay, that he has a crush on the least likely person possible... his arch-enemy.
Deirdra's Comments: I recently re-read this story. In fact, I just finished it the other day. Draco's has a horrible life, full of rape and abuse. However, he still manages to love, even though he doesn't feel he's worthy of being loved in return.
in Colour - Silent Auror
HP/DM - Sequel to Innuendo - NC-17 - Harry & Draco deal with what it means for the Saviour of the Wizarding World and the son of Lucius Malfoy to be in love.
Deirdra's Comments: Just a continuation of the first story. However, in this one, it picks up a few weeks after Innuendo ends. It takes up with Harry and Draco once they truly begin their relationship, instead of showing how they found each other, like in the first one. There's still a lot of bad things that happen, but it all ends well. I definitely recommend these two stories.
Was a Thursday – Serenitas
HP/DM – NC-17 - I wanted to know what all the hype was about. I needed experience and that meant Slytherin. I needed someone I would never forget. I chose Draco Malfoy.
Deirdra's Comments: I'll make it simple. Harry wants to lose his virginity. He doesn't want a big stink, nor does he want to lose it to someone he's afraid he'll get attached to. This person must have experience and have no reason to not go along with Harry's plan. He chooses Draco for reasons all his own. Unfortunately, he ends up falling, and hard. Draco falls back.
and the Silver Dragon – tas
HP/DM – NC-17 - Harry comes out of his shell and enjoys the pleasures of sex. His thoughts are on another, who he doesn't think he has a chance with.....or does he?
Deirdra's Comments: Right, ok, so I read this one over. Lots of sex. Lol. Just like I like it. Harry meets Severus' nephew, Devlin, over the summer and Dev has a boyfriend named Rayden who just happens to be Draco's cousin. Harry has a huge thing for Draco. Like, huge. He, Dev and Ray get it on all summer. Harry learns lots of cool things. Aphrodisiacs are involved. Anyhow, he eventually gets Draco. Blaise is obsessed with Draco and plots to break the two of them up. He suceeds. Lots of bad stuff ends up happening and Draco ends up hurting Harry badly, but he wasn't himself when he did it. Harry eventually learns to get over it, of course. But it does take some time. It ends well and the sex is hot. Check it out.
Je Te Plumerais - Nimori
HP/LM - NC-17 - A caged bird will sing, if only to conserve his spirit.
Deirdra's Comments: Harry drives Lucius insane singing Allouette while locked in a dark, dirty cell cell after they're both captured and imprisoned by the Dark Lord. They get closer and end up fucking. Then they're rescued and everything changes.
Exaltation of the Lark - Nimori
HP/LM - Companion to Je Te Plumerais - PG-13 - Mirror version of 'Je Te Plumerais'. The damaged bird must mend his wings.
Deirdra's Comments: From Lucius' point of view. An interesting look at his view of things from the first story.
Birdseye - Nimori
HP/LM - Sequel to Je Te Plumerais and Exaltation of the Lark - PG - Allouette universe. Friends and family observe the lovebirds.
Deirdra's Comments: The completion of the series. I personally think their friends and family are assholes. But that's me.
This? - blue
HP/DM – NC-17 - Things change and, 3 years after Hogwarts, Harry Potter is no more our Golden Boy, but an appreciated muggle writer. And one night he meets somebody from his past...
Deirdra's Comments: Ahh! I remember! Heh. Draco is working as an escort, kind of, and his 'pimp' tries to give him to Harry for a night or something...ok, so I can't remember much. Draco is doing it against his will...something like that. I can't really remember much more than that, but I do know that Harry and Draco do get together by the end, willingly.
Lacy Things - Diana
RL/SS, eventually RL/SS/HP - Series
Walking Around in Women's Underwear - NC-17 - What, exactly, does Severus Snape wear under those robes?
Handcuffs at Night - NC-17 - Snape and Lupin face resistance to their relationship from an expected source, and deal with issues of trust.
Something to Talk About - R - Rumors abound at Hogwarts, and two new lovers must deal with them, as well as their new relationship.
Join the Parade - NC-17 - Remus Lupin gives his lover his greatest desire.
Mistakes and Manages - NC-17 - Following his night with Remus and Severus, Harry tries to accept that it was a one-off. Meanwhile, Remus and Severus deal with changes in their relationship.
Shades of Pink - NC-17 - Severus wants to play. Remus lets Harry stay and watch - on the condition that Harry doesn't interfere and does what Remus orders. Can Harry obey?
Deirdra's Comments: Perverted, but good. I believe the first four are just Remus/Severus then Harry joins them. Cross-dressing ensues, people. If you don't like it, don't bother clicking.
La Vita Nova - Titti
HP/SS - NC-17 - Part of the HP/SS Fuh-Q Fest Scenario # 124. Harry gets arrested for soliciting in Hogsmeade. Snape has to pay his bail. (Sezstar) 125. Harry gets a sexually transmitted disease, (can be serious or not), Snape has to cure him. (Sezstar) 137. While going through a box of his parents things, Harry finds a contract where he was betrothed to Snape as an infant. (ProfSnapeFan)
Deirdra's Comments: I just finished reading this story for the umpteenth time, and I still love it. It's not your conventional Harry-and-Snape-Must-Marry fic. They marry then go their separate ways. Of course, fate, or something else, throw them back together and, though they barely tolerate each other in the beginning, they learn love by the end. Very good read. Of course, I love just about everything I read by Titti.
My Heart - Emma Grant
HP/DM - NC-17 - Post-Hogwarts. Auror Draco Malfoy has disappeared, and Harry Potter has been sent to find him.
Deirdra's Comments: -Squees!- I could not possibly tell you how much I love this fic. Gods, I swear, you would never believe me. It is the most amazing thing I have ever read. Trust me, it is. It's written in Harry's POV. And Emma is so fucking funny. Don't believe me? Check out her journal. -Pimps everything Emma like there's no tomorrow.-
the Grey - Emma Grant
HP/DM - Sequel to Left My Heart - NC-17 - Draco Malfoy returns to London after five years of self-imposed exile to start a new life with Harry. But will the secrets of the past destroy everything they've worked for?
Deirdra's Comments: So, so good. And finally complete. Lots of twists and turns. This one is in Draco's POV.
Lettered - Pir8Fancier
HP/DM - NC-17 - Draco and his love affair with his quill.
Deirdra's Comments: This story is a series of, sometimes very short, letters between Harry and Draco. Harry isn't aware it's Draco writing him until just near the end. Needless to say, he gets over it. I must admit that I only read this one because I wanted to read the second and felt that I should read the first before the sequel. I knew it was just letters, but I'm honestly glad I read it. It gives a little insight into who Draco has become in the sequel.
Lush Life - Pir8Fancier
HP/DM - NC-17 - Draco Malfoy has just had his fortieth birthday, is currently editor of a soft porn gay men’s magazine published in the U.S., is the author of a no-holds-barred tell all of his life as a former rentboy, and is perfectly happy. Uh, not really perfectly happy, because we wouldn’t have much of a story, now would we? Enter one Harry Potter.
Deirdra's Comments: This story does not pick up where Lettered left off. In fact, it doesn't really explain what happened between Harry and Draco until much later. Oh, it does explain it. Here and there. But you don't get the full explaination in one sitting. (I mean that Draco 'explains' things in little details to someone he's corresponding with. This is how we learn of what happened. Care to guess who that person is?) In the end, you get to see what will happen, but you don't get to see it happening. Yeah, figure that one out. Lol.
Light of Heaven - Draeconin
HP/DM - NC-17 - Harry and Draco's magic goes awry after an unusual, and unexpected, bonding. Intelligent dragons get involved when the boys have to leave Hogwarts to learn another way of life, another kind of magic.
Deirdra's Comments: I haven't read this one in quit a while, but I'm getting to it. I promise. I remember very little about it other than the fact that Draco and Harry end up together at some underground dragon community and train there with the dragons to learn to control their magic. I'll rewrite this comment after I've read it again.
It Like That - Yih
HP/DM - NC-17 - They may never like each other, but that doesn't stop them from shagging nonstop. For Draco, it's a release from the facade he's maintained. For Harry, it's the only piece of sweet ecstasy he can feel when his world is about to crash and burn.
Deirdra's Comments: This story starts out with Harry on his hands and knees with Draco saying nasty things in his ear then Harry replying for him to just, 'shut up and fuck me already.' Any fic that starts out like that has my attention. Long, emotional, excellently written. This fic made me cry, and I don't cry easily. (Note: Those are not his exact words, but trust me, they're close enough.)
HP/DM - NC-17 - Four Gryffindors and four Slytherins under a forced lockdown in the potions classroom for two days.
Deirdra's Comments: I love everything she writes. This story was the first I ever read by her. Let's just say that since, the two of us have emailed and kept in contact.
The Lodger - Mad Martha
HP/DM - PG-13 - Years after Voldemort's death and the end of the war, a lonely and alienated Harry Potter decides to take in a lodger. The result isn't quite what he anticipated. He has more in common with his new housemate than he expected, and together they learn to look life ? and the wizarding world - in the face again.
Deirdra's Comments: Harry takes in Draco Malfoy after he's been missing for years. Apparently, he's been in hiding because so many people want to kill him. He's been cleared of all charges, though I can't remember whether or not he had ever been a Death Eater. The public possibly blamed the sins of the father on the son and hated Draco merely for his name alone. Can't remember, but they end up together eventually.
Lost Feeling -
RL/SS, RL/SB, HP/SS - Series
Lost Feeling - NC-17 - Lupin tries to cope, after Sirius is sent to Azkaban and through his return to Hogwarts as DADA instructor.
Cake - NC-17 - Lupin eats dessert. Snape is intrigued. Takes place several months after "Lost Feeling."
Dead Till I Be With Him - NC-17 - A lot can happen in twelve years. Will Remus and Sirius be able to put their relationship back together?
A Little Out of Tune - R - Snape and Lupin have a musical experience.
Sensation - NC-17 - Companion piece to the "Remembering" sequence in "Dead Till I Be With Him." Remus POV of Marauder-era events.
Train in Vain - NC-17 - Sirius and Remus listen to the Clash's "Train in Vain" and have a fight. Takes place after "Dead Till I Be With Him".
Kitchen Raids - NC-17 - History repeats, with varying outcomes.
Jealousy - NC-17 - Remus gets jealous. Takes place after "Kitchen Raids" and "Possessions".
The Visit - PG-13 - Harry visits Sirius and Remus the summer before his sixth year at Hogwarts. Harry POV. Fits into the same trajectory as the rest of my SB/RL stories, and takes place after "Train in Vain".
Turning Japanese - NC-17 - Sirius and Remus listen to a song that sparks a discussion. Takes place after "The Visit."
Wild About You - NC-17 - Sirius listens to a song. Remus is inspired. PWP.
A Proposal - NC-17 - Sirius has a proposal. How on earth will Remus respond?
Till Break Of Day - NC-17 - Harry and Snape *slowly* figure out how to have a relationship after Harry leaves Hogwarts.
The Conversation - NC-17 - PWP. Sirius wants to talk. Remus doesn't.
One Warm Beautiful Thing - NC-17 - Sequel to "Till Break of Day" and starts three weeks after the end of that story. If you haven't read that, this one won't make much sense. Problems from without and within threaten Harry and Snape's new relationship. Also takes place in the same universe as "Lost Feeling" and "Dead Till I Be With Him".
Possessions: Triptych - NC-17 - Sequel to "One Warm Beautiful Thing". A three-part story exploring some of the repercussions from the previous story. Part I: they go to a club and talk; Part II: Harry's birthday party; Part III: the trial.
Deirdra's Comments: I think I've read this series about five times. I do like it immensely. Sirius didn't fall through the veil in this one, folks. It's books 1-4 and has been considered AU for more than two years now. You don't have to read them in the order I listed them, but to me, that is the most logical order to read them in.
The Lost Son - Lachesis
HP/SS - R - When Harry's son is sent into the past in an effort to save his life from a Dark Lord, he is then forced to protect his existence from the otherwise good intentions of his parents and their friends.
Deirdra's Comments: This story was great. I love time travel stories, and this one is very different than most. It's not Harry or Severus that goes back in time, but their son. Amusing at times, and very well written.
The Ripple Effect - Lachesis
HP/SS - R - When Harry altered his own past, that alteration echoed to affect his future.
Deirdra's Comments: So this is the sequel to one of my favourites, The Lost Son. Harry and Severus are a little older, but they haven't had any children yet, even though they know they eventually will. Harry keeps getting attacked, but a mysterious stranger is always there to save him. Can you guess who it is?
Loving Potions - Tara Tory
HP/SS - R - Voldemort tries to get to Harry with a love potion. It backfires. Most of the action takes place at a potions conference. The story includes the traditional Snape takes Harry from the Dursleys scene.
Deirdra's Comments: Harry loves Severus. Severus is his professor and, therefore, they can't be together. Severus quits his job at Hogwarts and 'rescues' Harry from the Dursleys for the remainder of the summer. He takes him to a Potions conference after a very dramatic exit from Privet Dr. They explore their relationship while at the hotel then Sev gets a house in Hogsmeade so he and Harry can be close during the year. I quite enjoyed this one.
Dreaming - frogslayr - Broken Link
HP/DM - NC-17 - Harry's fantasy takes an unexpected turn when another Draco comes into his life. Love's dream or his worst nightmare? Slytherin friends, smoking demons, and stars pave the road to redemption. 7th year.
Deirdra's Comments: Very good, very angsty, very dramatic. Dream Draco is a bit girly for me, Harry would be better off dating a woman. Real Draco does it for me, though. He's snarky, rude, mean, and better than everyone else. Long live Real Draco!
on the Night - frogslayrBroken Link
HP/DM - Sequel to Lucid Dreaming - NC-17 - 4 years after Dream Draco saved the world, life plods on. But when evil plans a come-back through nightmares, can Harry and co. rise from quiet desperation and rally forth again?
Deirdra's Comments: I'm in the process of reading this one, but it looks promising.
Magic Never Gone - Dorothy
HP/DM - NC-17 - Draco Malfoy just wants life to move on. Harry just wants someone who understands.
Deirdra's Comments: Draco's poor and on the Ministry's shit list. He's under constant serveillance. Harry is the one constantly surveying him. Yeah, can you say obsessed? Eventually, it turns into more than just Harry being an asshole, then it turns into more than sex.
Child – Vorabiza
HP/DM – PG - A potions accident turns Draco into a four-year-old and Harry takes over his care for the next four months.
Deirdra's Comments: I absolutely love this story, though I love just about anything she writes. Well, you can tell from the other stories by her that are on this list. Anyhow, check out the sequel as well. It's cute. There isn't really anything going on between Draco and Harry in this one, but she more than makes up for it in the sequel.
Kids – Vorabiza
HP/DM – Sequel to Malfoy Child - NC-17 - Harry and Draco take their friends on a summer camping trip. For Harry especially, this trip represents a chance for them to just be kids for once, without all the adult responsibilities.
Deirdra's Comments: Yes, well, Draco whines and complains for at least part of the trip. Very naughty scene around the camp fire, mind you. Excellent story, very smutty. Gotta love it.
Flavor - Vorabiza
HP/DM - NC-17 - Harry’s ready to banish the Golden Boy image and take charge of his life. Unfortunately, or fortunately, for him there are still more surprises in store for him. Somewhat of a sixth year, Severitus and Slytherin!Harry fic.
Deirdra's Comments: Can we say this is a better sixth year HP story than HBP? She finished posting the last chapter early in the morning of the 16th of July and I finished reading it before I passed out that day. (I had to sleep all day so I could wake up right before going to get my book, making it possible to stay up all night reading.) I swear to you that this fic is amazing. You should also read her other stuff, which can be found at her profile. She's writing another that I can't wait to read called Malfoy Child, which is of no relation to this fic in any way.
Man in Draco's Bed - Cyan Snape
HP/DM - NC-17 - Lucius is hysterical...actually he would rather be dead. Draco has arrived at Malfoy Manor just in time for the Christmas Holidays...with his new husband, Harry Potter-Malfoy. The Malfoy Code of Honor demands that Lucius protect his new son-in-law and Voldemort is coming for Christmas dinner!
Deirdra's Comments: Need a good laugh? Ever have the urge to see a barefoot, pregnant Harry eating a peanut-butter and banana sandwich? What about Lucius almost having either an aneurism or a nervous breakdown every five seconds? -Giggles.- Dude, best funny fic ever.
Little Angel - Cyan Snape
HP/DM - Sequel to The Man in Draco's Bed - R - No one should have to suffer through two meltdowns, but Lucius Malfoy’s luck has run from bad to worse for the last four years. It all began when Harry Potter became the man in Draco’s bed.
Deirdra's Comments: I thought I laughed hard during the first one, but this one made me laugh even harder. Funny stuff.
Masks - ShivaniBlue
HP/DM - R - A rather bizarre (in my opinion) solution to the issue of Voldemort.
Deirdra's Comments: This story was quite interesting. I liked it immensely, though I'm still not sure why Harry had to do what he did if he was just going to defeat Voldemort the way he did. To me, though the ideas were good ones, I don't understand why they were both used at the same time. I can see if they were used separately, but it escapes my mind why it was necessary....I still liked it.
The Medean Curse: A Romantic Comedy - Lydia Lovestruck
HP/SS - NC-17 - Harry's impotent. Snape's got the cure. But. he wants something in return!
Deirdra's Comments: No, what most of you think Sev wants in return is not actually what he wants. Lol. He doesn't ask for sexual favours from the Golden Boy once his impotence is gone. And, in fact, they continue to dislike each other until almost the very last minute before they tell each other of their feelings for one another. Which also coincides with the end of the story, if my memory serves me right. It ends shortly after they get together. But trust me, half the fun is getting there and the shit that happens before they finally reach each other is amusing. Worth the read.
of a Death Eater Whore - Nimori
HP/Various (HP/LM, HP/DM, HP/LV, HP/SS, HP/EVERYFUCKINGDEATHEATER) - Series - NC-17 - After one year of service, Harry Potter is about to earn a place for himself.
Deirdra's Comments: Gods, this one is good. I love a slutty, whorish Harry. It can be a bit confusing if you don't pay attention, though. I read it on ISF and not all the little ficlets are posted there. Not to mention the fact that they're posted out of order. The link will take you to a list of the stories in order of them happening (on Nimori's site), but I'm pretty sure the links are broken. To solve the problem (I did it this way so you could see the chronological order) just visit the main fiction area of the site here then click on 'fiction'. It's the very first story at the top of the list.
Merlin's Power - Slytherin Prefect
HP/DM - R - Albus Dumbledore manipulates the lives of all around him especially Harry. What happens when a few are brave enough to follow their hearts.
Deirdra's Comments: I would like to point out that there are mentions, as well as a brief description of, RAPE in this story. This story is one of my favourites. Severus and Draco are disabused of their preconceived notions of Harry Potter and are enlisted to help him. If you don't already hate Albus Dumbledore, you will once you read this. Oh, and you won't be too fond of Ron and Hermione for most of the story either. Harry and Draco get together quite late in the story and don't acually have sex until the second to last chapter or some such shit. You WILL cry when you read chapter 39. But chapter 40 more than makes up for it. There is death, but everything is made right.
Quidditch - Anya
Erm...het. HP/GW - PG-13 - Funny as hell. A game of magical Truth or Dare leads to some dire consequences for the Gryffindor Quidditch team. Inspired by Alex's comment that he was "off to dream of nude Quidditch matches..."
Deirdra's Comments: I don't think I'm supposed to actually give out the link to this story, because it says not to archive it without permission, but it made me laugh so hard that I just have to rec it. There is absolutely no het action in it, but it does imply a Harry/Ginny pairing. It really is quite amusing. Fred and George lose a bet against the Slytherins and they now have to play a match against green and silver in the buff. The story is in the form of emails or a message board, but it's still amusing. In fact, that's one of the reasons the story is so damn funny.
Regretably, this story can no longer be found on any archives that I have seen this author at. But, the link will
now take you to the author's group, which you will have to join. The story can be
found in the files section of the group. You must be of age to join.
Naked Truth - Sansa
Various, many implied, none confirmed - R - Our boys tell the Ministry what they really think.
Deirdra's Comments: Right, there really aren't any definite pairings, but you can assume that they may all actually be involved with each other on some level. I really enjoyed this one, as it made me laugh heartily.
No Place Like - Tara Tory
HP/SS - R - Snape gets to deal with one of the least magical places on earth when Voldemort's clever plan takes a wrong turn. Kansas, it turns out, handles magic pretty well.
Deirdra's Comments: I honestly didn't think I would like this story one bit. But, seeing as I read it and, obviously loved it, I eventually got through it. It appealed to the part of me that, deep down, still loves the Wizard of Oz. No, it's not a parody and no, it's not a crossover nor is it anything of the sort. But look at the title. The story does kind of have an Oz twist to it. I found it quite amusing and a very good read.
No Room - Elle
HP/DM - NC-17 - Draco's stuck at Grimmauld Place for the war, where everyone is getting laid but him.
Deirdra's Comments: From what I can remember, this was cute. Not too long, though. I think it was in the mid to low 20,000's for word count. There is sex in it, hence the rating. Um...Love is only declared at the end.
Way Out - knightmare
HP/DM, Duncan/Methos - HP/Highlander crossover - NC-17 - After being offered to Voldemort by his father, Draco seeks out the one who has stood up to him-the person who hates him, or does he?
Deirdra's Comments: I'm not much for crossovers of any kind, but give me a bit of MacLeod, throw in some Methos, mix with Harry and Draco, and I'll be more than happy. There's a short companion fic that goes with the story which can be found at knightmare's profile on TSS. It's pretty much just smut, but good anyhow. I like smut.
(Chronological) - Lydia Lovestruck
RL/SS, RL/Various - The sexual history of Remus John Lupin, Lycanthrope, in 31 episodes in chronological order. Other kinks include lavage (enema), rimming, prostitution, hate crimes, minor character death, masturbation. the list goes on. See also 'Number Theory (Numerical)' to read the story in its originally posted order.
Deirdra's Comments: This story was very good. The only thing about the whole story that squicked me, yes, the only thing, was when Harry kisses Remus and tries to get him to leave Sev for him. I just...ugh. That pairing puts me off food. Anyway, quite good story, and it also inspired me to write a 'train' story, though I have yet to write it. Lol, you'll know what I mean once you read this. Very good. If you want to read the original posting of the story, which was mentioned in the summary, go here and simply type in Number Theory, or the entire title including (Numerical) in the title field and press enter. You can also search Lydia Lovestruck.
Of Lucius and Black - Katling
HP/SS - NC-17 - When Harry resigns from the Aurors and returns to Hogwarts to teach, he doesn't expect to end up deeper in the hunt for the renegade Lucius Malfoy than before.
Deirdra's Comments: Harry is fed up with the Aurors and always having to do all their work, so he quits and goes to Hogwarts. Harry has a 'personality' named Antony Black, a disguise he used as an Auror, and slips into the role and into Knockturn Alley to try and find information about Lucius. Snape ends up getting involved and they end up having to fake a relationship. What do you think happens?
the Last Day of Our World - Sansa
HP/DM - R - During a detention, Harry and Draco get locked in a strange room together overnight. When they escape the next morning, they discover they are alone. Love, angst and adventure abound as they struggle to survive in an empty world.
Deirdra's Comments: For me, this fic was a little slow going with the reading at first. But once I got into it, I couldn't stop reading. It is so good. I love Harry and Draco.
the Wings of the Storm - Silent Auror
HP/DM - NC-17 - The war is upon Draco Malfoy, and there are many hard decisions to be made.
Deirdra's Comments: This one is well written, as is everything by this author, and I absolutely loved it.
Again - Kimberjingle
HP/DM - NC-17 - Post-Hogwarts. Ron and others saw Harry killed by Voldemort in the final battle. But did he? Why did Albus retire from Hogwarts the day after that fateful night? Other realms of existence are revealed to wizards when their cross-species hero comes to save them all once again from the evils of other realms. Living in two worlds is difficult and how does one decide just where home really is? Adventures, revelations and true tests of heart lie in wait. When faced with the decision of allowing the race of wizards to exist or the species which holds his unborn child, what choice is there?
Deirdra's Comments: Remember when I said that I loved three of her fics? This is one of them. It's the first I read by her and I emailed her, begging her to write a sequel, but she never answered me. Oh well, it's still good and it can actually end where it did nicely. But everyone wants a sequel to their favorite stories, just to see where the characters go from there.
Our Summer at Hogwarts - Titti
HP/DM, SS/BW - NC-17 - When Harry and Draco refuse to go home for the summer, Dumbledore turns to Severus and Bill to take care of the students. In the two summer months, their relationships grow in unexpected ways.
Deirdra's Comments: I love this story. The boys take a bit to get together, and it's slow going at first, but they do end up together. Sev and Bill is a nice change from the norm, really. I think one of my favourite scenes is when Harry gets Draco to eat a McDonald's Big Mac. Another scene is when all of the Weasleys show up for a picnic lunch. Yeah, good times. Lol.
Growing Up - Titti
HP/DM, SS/BW - Sequel to Our Summer at Hogwarts - G - It is Harry's 22nd birthday and his friends help him celebrate it.
Deirdra's Comments: Very, very short sequel to Our Summer at Hogwarts. It's years later, though don't ask me to calculate how many, lol. Everyone meets up at Harry and Draco's house to celebrate Harry's birthday. Just a kind of 'where are they now' type of thing.
Pandora Box Complex - Nimori
HP/SS - NC-17 - Some boxes, once opened, are hard to shut.
Deirdra's Comments: Severus. The internet. Slash fanfiction. Chat rooms. Need I say more?
Guidance - Geena
LM/SS, DM/LM, DM/NM, DM/SS - NC-17 - This story was inspired by the novel by Mario Vargas Llosa, called In Praise of the Stepmother, where a child seduces his stepmother to get her thrown out of the house. This was the original idea but I elaborated quite a bit. (with Snape as special guest star) The story covers several years without being too specific Draco's age, just to be on the safe side.
Deirdra's Comments: Right, before I tell you what I thought, let me tell you this. This story has a lot of very dubious consent incest (trust me, it's not what you think) and it's not the good kind. I know you're all staring at this page with a look of disbelief on your face saying, "Ye Gods, is she actually implying that there is any good incest?!" Actually, I am. To an extent. Don't get me wrong, I think it's a very sick thing in real life, but Draco and Lucius are too perfect and beautiful to not indulge in each other and, damnit, I want to watch. Having said that, I would like to state that even though this isn't the good kind, I still liked the story very much. I found it very twisted and great mindfuck material.
Sage, Rosemary and Thyme - FemmeSlash
HP/SS, Various - NC-17 - Harry gets a mysterious present and an STD--both in the same week.
Deirdra's Comments: -Squeals.- So good. It's much better than the summary gives it credit for. Imagine, finding out you have a deadly STD (deadly only if it's not treated) and being told you have to inform every single person you've slept with. Now, imagine that list being so long you're embarrassed. Right, now mix in the fact that Snape is the one you have to give the list to because he's the one making the cure. Care to go a bit further? Add in the fact that you're Harry Potter and have a thing for Snape. Yeah, it's makes for quite a concoction.
is the Play – Maeglin Yedi
HP/SS – NC-17 - Harry wants revenge. Harry has a plan. But is Harry Slytherin enough to avoid his own trap?
Deirdra's Comments: -Snickers.- Harry at his most manipulative. He tries to get Severus fired by accusing him of...rape and...yeah. Well, his plan is to trick Severus into believing he wants him, then after getting Severus to sleep with him, running to Dumbledore and cry rape to get him fired. His plan falls through when he develops feelings for his professor.
DM/RW, DM/LM - NC-17 - Ron realizes that he cares for Draco when he sees Lucius molesting his son.
Deirdra's Comments: The only reason I like this story is because nothing is what it seems between Draco and Lucius or Draco and Ron. Trust me, if you're sick like me, you'll love it as much as I do.
Perfect Imperfection - Vinagrette
HP/DM - NC-17 - (link to chapter index) Draco has a knack for working hard to get what he wants. But with Harry what he wants comes too easy. Does it also come with a price?
Deirdra's Comments: Harry and Draco are in a relationship that Harry feels is one-sided. Draco is a Malfoy and doesn't like to share. Harry needs a bit of love. What happens when Harry cheats to get the emotional support he needs?
Per Solum Lacuna: By Words Alone - Azhure
HP/DM - NC-17 - A set of enchanted journals bring solace to two very unlikely lost souls. This is a wizarding twist on the old fashioned art of correspondence. What will happen when the mystery writers finally discover the identity of their counterpart?
Deirdra's Comments: I'm going to be completely honest and say that throughout most of this story, I was frustrated. I was frustrated at the author, at the characters, at the wordcount, and at myself for continuing to read. The beginning is slow. I won't lie. And while you're reading, there will be parts where you'll sit back and say, "What the FUCK!? How can they not KNOW!?" Then you'll want to throw something (go ahead and do it, as long as it's not at the computer or that you don't throw the computer itself), but eventually you'll calm down. It's worth it in the end. The story packs a hefty punch with over 500,000 words to boast, and admittedly, Harry and Draco don't see the light until about the 475,000 word (-Snickers.- I'm sure it's sooner than that, it just seems that long to me. Heh.), but overall the story was a great find and an excellent read. The only problem I had with the story, was one loose end that was never tied, at least not in my book. But, then again, the author may have had a reason. I won't tell you what that loose end was, you can see if you figure it out when you read it.
– LinW aka Nesting Hedwig
HP/LM – NC-17 - After the defeat of the Light, Lord Voldemort gives an injured Harry Potter to Lucius Malfoy as a pet.
Deirdra's Comments: Doesn't start out very nice (I liked it, though). Lucius isn't very kind to Harry for most of the story, but he does kind of ease up by the end, even though he still sees Harry as a possession. I went through a lot to post this here because the only link I had for the story was from TSS and I had to track it down on another archive. It's worth the read.
HP/SS, DM/SB - R - AU Severus Snape is head of one of the best teams in the Phoenix Unit, when a new case is given to him and his team they find that it isn't as easy to take down the bad guys as people think. What is the newest addition to Severus' team hiding? And what connections does he have to their elusive murderer?
Deirdra's Comments: It took me a while to get into this one, but once I did, I loved it. It's not really non-magic, but then again, it kind of is. Hogwarts apparently doesn't exist and none of the characters that are involved technically know Harry. James is still alive, Lucius and Narcissa are divorced, the Malfoys have always been good, Snape gets along with Ron and Ginny, and they're all detectives of a sort with types of powers like telekenisis, tracing, dream weaving, telepathy, draining, invisibility, healing, etc. Harry is younger than the rest who are his age canonly, even Ginny. Tom Riddle is in the story, but not how J.K. originally wrote him. It's still a good story. There's a sequel in the works, though since this story was just finished, I'm not sure how long it will be until the sequel is done as well.
Primary Care - The Senjou
SS/RL, HP/DM - NC-17 - Tensions at Hogwarts result in a bizarre accident endangering Harry Potter and disrupting the life of Severus Snape and a certain werewolf.
Deirdra's Comments: Brilliant story. I absolutely loved it. One of the few, if not the only, stories where both Harry and Draco are turned into children. Remus has been banned from the Wizarding World and works as a pre-school teacher in the Muggle world. When one of the Slytherins casts a hex on Draco and Harry, who are lovers, and they get turned into four-year-olds, Draco is brought to Remus for the day while Severus hops around with Harry, apparating from destination to destination to keep the Death Eater's off their tails. Eventually, both boys are moved in with Remus, and Severus joins them, until they're either old enough (after going through the growth process for the second time) or until Severus can find a 'cure'. I love what happens in the end, you'll know what I mean when you get there. Funny tidbit, Draco calls Severus 'Daddy', even though he's fully aware that Sev isn't his father. Apparently, Lucius had found it amusing when Draco had originally been four to tell his son to call Severus 'Daddy'. Oh, and Draco is the most irritating, obnoxious four-year-old. Seriously.
Facing the Strange - The Senjou
HP/DM - Companion to Primary Care - NC-17 - After being re-sorted Harry and Draco rediscover their relationship.
Deirdra's Comments: This is the companion piece to Primary Care. It's just a short little one-shot about Harry and Draco after they revert to their true ages. A little bit of smut.
Essential Care - The Senjou
SS/RL, HP/DM - Companion to Primary Care and Facing the Strange - NC-17 - Christmas was not a time for experimentation, maybe.
Deirdra's Comments: Kind of the same thing, but this time, it's Severus that is the victim of the age reversal and he's a teenager, not a child. Amusing situations result.
Bonds – Sadie DragonFire
HP/DM - NC-17 - Hermione discovers a book with an interesting protection spell. When Harry and his friends try it out, Harry and Draco are left to deal with the results.
Deirdra's Comments: This one, like Golden Thread of Trust, just kind of ends. But, this one ends in a much better way. The fact that there is some resolution, and no loose ends, makes the ending, though abrupt, justified. Well, perhaps justified isn't the right word, and some don't like the way it just ends, but for me, it explained enough. If you would like my reasons why I feel that way, email me after you've read it and I will give them to you. To tell you now, before you've read it, will ruin the story.
The Quiet War - The Ruby Moth
HP/DM - NC-17 - After the end of HBP, Harry hunts Horcruxes, Voldemort, and an end to the War. But not all wars are noisy or obvious; the world is not black or white, and not all snakes are evil. When things go wrong in Diagon Alley, Harry finds the motivation he needs to face Voldemort. His desperation leads him to Spinner's End, but the Ministry is hypocritically blaming Dumbledore and Harry for the War, and with the Ministry and perhaps even the Order of the Phoenix sabotaged from within, it is ironically only Snape and Draco who can help him defeat Voldemort at last, and Draco may represent the only thing Harry has left that's worth living or fighting for.
Deirdra's Comments: Harry goes looking for Snape and finds Draco and Pettigrew at Spinner's End. He hides out there for a while and Draco and Sev help Harry find and destroy the remaining Horcruxes. Harry and Draco eventually form a relationship. I really like most of the stories this author writes, so keep looking out for more stories on this page by The Ruby Moth.
Raspberry Jam - v v c
HP/DM - PG-13 (T on FF.Net) - Draco tries not to think of his upcoming transition and the unwanted partner chosen for him by his father. Then he finds he may have a choice after all. Will the faith he puts into his choice be rewarded? A slow, soft romance.
Deirdra's Comments: Absolutely adorable. Draco has to go through a painful transition when he comes of age and must choose a partner to help him in solitude for about a week. He decides to choose Harry, though both of them aren't even friends. Harry accepts and they spend a week locked away from the rest of the world. It ends just after Draco's presentation (think of a coming out party, a debutant ball, that kind of thing). Draco has the most adorable system for reading Harry's moods. It all has to do with what he eats for breakfast. You must read this.
Made Family – DracosMinx
HP/SS – R - After leaving the wizarding world Harry returns to Hogwarts with his two-year-old son. Once there Harry and his boy thaw out a cold, lonely Potions Master.
Deirdra's Comments: This story was very good, well written. A typical 'Harry and Severus get together despite the odds' story. The little boy in the story is so precious I couldn't help but say aww every time he was in it. I must say that it really was quite good. Very enjoyable.
From Bondage – Elanor Isolda
HP/SS – R - After Voldemort's defeat, Snape struggles to take control of his own life. Harry, lonely and shunned by Wizarding society, finds him.
Deirdra's Comments: The war is over. Severus leaves Hogwarts and opens an Apothecary. Harry walks in five years later. He keeps coming back, even though Snape tells him not to. One day he begins to help Snape with the shop. They get closer and Harry 'officially' begins to work there. One day they become more than friends.
The Return of the Prodigal - Lachesis
HP/SS - R - When Harry is tossed backwards in time through a magical accident, he has no choice but to return the hard way. One day at a time.
Deirdra's Comments: Poor Harry. He gets sent back in time, and the only way for him to make his way back, is to live out his life until the time he came from comes around again. Which is another reason why I like this time travel story. It's not like most. It's written by the same author that wrote The Lost Son and The Ripple Effect. Lachesis always writes the best time travel fics. -
House – minerva alistor
HP/DM – NC-17 - Harry and Draco get locked in a safe house for their own protection.
Deirdra's Comments: Draco is under protection of the Ministry of Magic. Harry is an Auror. He gets assigned to Draco for protection and they end up getting close. Along the way, quite soon after Harry is assigned to Draco, they end up having to go into hiding because the person trying to kill Draco is very persistent. They spend a very long time in the safe house and end up very in love by the end, getting engaged shortly before they are released. The one fear they have is that things might change for them once they're back on the outside.
The Same Coin - Meri
HP/SS - R - After being injured as a Auror, Harry Potter returns to teach at Hogwarts.
Deirdra's Comments: Harry returns to teach DADA. He's severely injured. You know, I sympathize with his pain. Most of it is in his hip and back, though some in his thigh. I have severe hip and back problems, and the muscles in my thighs twitch as well. Right, back to the commentary. Lol. They eventually become friends, then more. Wow, I didn't realize how many of Meri's stories were on this list until just now. Heh.
Sanguis-Vinculum - Meri
HP/SS - R - A potions accident blood bonds Snape and Harry together. it took 68,000 words to get them to work it out.
Deirdra's Comments: I read this one more than once, but the details are a little sketchy. Don't worry, I do remember it. Harry, Ron and Hermione make this potion that will lend Harry their powers to help him defeat Voldemort. It's temporary, and a friendly bond. Sev catches them and some of his blood gets into the potion, causing it to be a more powerful bond, leaving the two practically married. The potion was supposed to be drunk, but when Sev's blood combined with it, it turned into a vapour or something and entered both of them. Blah, blah, blah. Harry is still in school, so they kiss a few times, but the don't have sex until the end, the day of graduation. It's quite good, despite not having much sex.
a Horse, Ride a Cowboy - knightmare
HP/DM - NC-17 - Response to keikokin's Draco/Harry challenge: Draco and Harry have both run away from their horrid home lives, or make it post-Hogwarts and they've run away from the wizarding world. They wind up getting jobs at the same place and are forced to work together to get money. How can get along and help each other while realizing their mutual attraction? Bonus points if Lucius finds out and gives his blessing. Or they decide to go back because of MPREG, or that they want to get married. Harry is comfortable in his job, secure that he is safe from the wizarding world. Until a certain blond shows up and turns his world upside down.
Deirdra's Comments: And this one is amusing. I had never heard this song until the other day. No, it's not a songfic, but there is a song named that. And it's amusing. Country song. Yeah. So good.
in the Dark - SilentAuror
HP, DM, SS - NC-17 - Harry has a crush on Snape - and so does Draco. Who will Snape choose? If anyone? Read and see...
Deirdra's Comments: Again, read it to find out the pairing(s). It may not be what you think, lovlies. But it is a good read.
Secrets - Vorabiza
HP/DM - NC-17 - Beginning with Draco's unexpected arrival at the Dursleys, Harry's summer after sixth year becomes filled with activity and many secrets. As his summer progresses, Harry generates several unexpected allies as he finds himself actively becoming the leader of the Light side.
Deirdra's Comments: To start with, I'm going to warn you that this story is over 400,000 words and 62 chapters long. Now that I've done that, I can get to my actual comments about the story itself. As much as I love Biza, and everything she writes, I wish there had been a little more to this. Not that I think it should have been longer, per se, but I would have loved to see what happened to the boys, and everyone else, a little further into the future. It begins shortly after HBP ends, the summer after Harry's sixth year, and ends as they're getting on the train to go back to Hogwarts for their seventh year. A baby is involved and many other things. Don't let the size and what I said turn you away. It's well written and a great story.
Shades of Grey - Olivia_Lupin
HP/DM - NC-17 - Harry tells Hermione and Ron that he and Draco are lovers. They are NOT pleased.
Deirdra's Comments: I read this one a while back, but haven't had a chance to update the recs page since I read it, which, incidentally, was either the same day I last updated or the day after. Anyhow, that's of no consequence. It has another story that goes with it, but I'm not going to link it until I've read it. This story is about Harry telling Ron and Hermione about his relationship with Draco. The other, much longer story, is about how they got together. So, yeah. I would say it's worth reading.
The Silent Treatment - Sestra
HP/LM - NC-17 - The Muggle world is a cold and unfriendly place to a wizard used to the finer things in life.
Deirdra's Comments: I was quite upset when this story disappeared from the net. But, to my delight, it was back a few weeks later. Lucius/Harry is my biggest weakness (it's difficult to find well written H/L), and I adored this story. Just the thought of Lucius being so....broken and....lost...-Sighs.- It appealed to my inner romantic that I'm constantly trying to beat and kill on a daily basis. Lol. Definitely worth the time to read.
Silver Chain – dahlia
HP/DM – NC-17 - Harry and Draco discover Quidditch isn't the only source of thrills on the games pitch. But is history repeating itself in the form of an old love affair of Voldemort's? Meanwhile, everyone wants to get laid at the Yule Ball.
Deirdra's Comments: Draco and Harry don't like each other, nor do they like boys, but they end up having sex all over the school. Draco is still on the Dark Lord's side and refuses to change, just because Harry lets him fuck him. Of course, Harry does some fucking as well. A run-in with Voldemort and his lover, Hunter, Ron and Hermione finally getting together, lots of first-time and kinky sex abound. Good fic.
Play – dahlia
HP/DM – Sequel to The Silver Chain – NC-17 - Harry and Draco bury their enmity enough to shag each other silly - though they still don't like each other much. Then a rumour spread by Lavender and a villainous plot by Voldemort threaten their fragile truce.
Deirdra's Comments: A continuation, begins a few days after The Silver Chain ends. Draco is still on Voldemort's side...ok, he's not, but the author really gets into that in the next story. Voldemort is 'vaquished' thoug he does come back eventually. Harry and Draco are still 'just shagging' and they still don't like each other.
Ebony Box – dahlia
HP/DM – Sequel to Power Play - NC-17 - Harry and Draco are secretly dating, Ron and Hermione are having relationship issues, Lucius Malfoy is plotting and You-Know-Who is about to make a comeback.
Deirdra's Comments: Harry and Draco have loads of problems in their 'relationship', mainly that Draco is betraying him. Harry doesn't go berserk on him, though I would were I him, and they eventually work things out while saving the Wizarding World and putting Lucius in his place. Also a very good read.
Should I Trade This Life for Another? - Madame Celeste
HP/SS - R - As he is giving birth, Severus thinks back on how he and Harry arrived at this day.
Deirdra's Comments: Another Hermaphrodite!Harry story. I love those. -Giggles.- This story isn't too long, but it is very good. As the summary says, Severus is looking back at how he and Harry had gotten to this point while he's in labour. It's a very sweet story, though there really isn't any sex. I always point this out because I generally don't read stories under an R rating. Sometimes I do, but not often. This story is worth checking out. It's one of my favourites.
For Me, Cry For Me - famlia
HP/LM - NC-17 - Lucius feels that Harry might very well be his true mate but at first he has to make sure.
Deirdra's Comments: My new OTP. Lucius/Harry. There is rape. There is a touch of Veela heritage. And a lot of angst. Throw in Hermione being a bitch (what's new there?) and Draco becoming the new third of the infamous Golden Trio. Much better than I made it sound.
Within - Kimberjingle
HP/DM - NC-17 - Seventh Year. Harry struggles with his sexuality and comes to terms with himself. Many emotional horrors, mental battles and thoughts of suicide lie in wait. Draco is dealing with his own struggles with what being a Malfoy really means. Will he take a curse to keep wealth? Everything is based on choices and both find out that they're not always pleasant.
Deirdra's Comments: Ok, I really loved this one as well. It is so good. Hell, even the ones I didn't like by her were good. They were well written, and they're all Harry/Draco, but I just can't see Harry carrying on with Hermione. -Gags.- Yeah, he does in at least one of the other ones and fancies himself in love with her behind Draco's back. Anyhow, this one isn't like that. Loads of gender changing (Harry's a metamorphmagus) and firsts. He's a virgin in just about every sense of the word. No, he doesn't learn everything from Draco, but he does learn a lot from him. Yes, it is eventually happy, but it's a long time before it actually gets there.
Snape: The Home Fries Nazi - Pir8fancier
HP/SS - NC-17 - When Harry defeats Voldemort, the Death Eaters lose their magic. Snape decamps to the United States, where he becomes a fry cook in a diner. Seven years after Voldemort's defeat, Harry comes to him for advice.
Deirdra's Comments: Oh Gods, I couldn't stop laughing! I love Sienfeld, and the Soup!Nazi was one of my favourite episodes. Heh. It's a rocky beginning, and gets rockier at some points, but I love this story. Love it. Especially the scene in the kitchen, with the vegetable oil...Yeah, you'll know it when you get to it. People just don't write it like that anymore... -Sighs dreamily.-
Snooker - The Drow
HP/DM - NC-17 - Almost five years ago, Harry Potter left Draco Malfoy to die on the battle field. Now he begins to realise that it's all about safety, fouls and balls...
Deirdra's Comments: I waited a long time for this story to be finished. I honestly thought it was going to be more about snooker than anything else. Like, they would get involved in the game and play tournaments, etc. Draco plays snooker, and there's mention of a few snooker players, both real and fictional, but not as much as I thought. It's cute.
Something About You - Lady Bahiya
HP/DM - NC-17 - It's been 10 years since Harry defeated Lord Voldemort. 10 years since Harry has seen Draco Malfoy and now Draco has made a rather startling appearance in his life once again. And he finds that he doesn't really mind.
Deirdra's Comments: This story was very cute. I love happy endings, and a little bit of fluff doesn't kill me. I also love it when the stories end with kids, as this one does.
The Spy Who Loved The Boy Who Lived - Alisanne
HP/DM - NC-17 - There is a plot to capture Harry Potter, and an unexpected person steps forward to save him. Can Harry really trust Draco over his friends?
Deirdra's Comments: Ok, I must say this before I say anything else. I suck at mysteries. Seriously. I mean, I can guess when I watch CSI, because, well, they make it easy to guess. But when I watch things like Clue, and other mystery based stories, it totally goes over my head. Now here's the problem. I knew who the spy was immediately. It wasn't because the author didn't write it well, it's because I FINALLY FIGURED OUT A MYSTERY! Yeah, just thought you should know. -Smirks.- Right, good story and all that. I loved it. Really. You should read it. Now.
Star-Crossed Seekers - The Ruby Moth
HP/DM - NC-17 - Harry's dread of Valentine's Day is established anew when a shocking tale of forbidden gay love between two Seekers is revealed to the student body via numerous copies of an enchanted book. But all is not as it seems, and Harry is determined to reach the bottom of both the mystery and Draco Malfoy.
Deirdra's Comments: A little bit of spanking kink, though very, very little. Kind of a cat and mouse game between the two of them for most of the story. The 'book' was Dumbledore's idea and, well, I'll leave it up to you to read the story and find out what it actually is.
With a Spin – Maxine
HP/DM – NC-17 - It started with the spin of a bottle, and now Harry and Draco have gotten themselves so far into their own game there's almost no way out again. Except to keep playing.
Deirdra's Comments: This is a wonderful story I just recently finished reading. I found it at Skyehawke, but linked to her actual site for the rec because there's loads of artwork and whatnot for the story there. One thing I would like to point out about this story, is that Harry and Draco don't really like each other for most of it, even though they're having a sexual relationship. As the summary says, it all started with a spin of a bottle. Any intelligent person could assume they're playing Spin the Bottle, correct? Yeah, the idea is that a bunch of people from all four houses get together on Saturday nights and play Spin the Bottle. Harry and Draco get dared to kiss one night and it escalates from there. Practice sessions ensue and Harry and Draco end up realizing more than just the fact that they may be gay. It's a great read, very long like most of the stories on this list, and well worth the read.
Stoned - Jean Tarin
HP/SS - R - 79) Severus and Harry wage war on each other in the Mall, dressed in Military fatigues, war paint on their faces and packing spray guns, filled with brightly colored paint. 98) Snape in drag. Why? 155) Food fight in the Great Hall, and Harry throws a pie right in the face of Severus Snape (by mistake or deliberately). What next? 171) Harry discovers that Snape brews up intoxicants in his Potions Lab and demands a taste. Part of "From Dusk til Dawn: the Harry Potter/Severus Snape Fuh-Q-Fest” at: http://www.kardasi.com/HPSS
Deirdra's Comments: I must say that this story amused me more than most do. Imagine this: Severus Snape stoned. Harry Potter getting stoned with him. A 'war game' at a shopping mall....Yeah. That's all I have to say. I dare you to try not laughing.
The Story of H - Diana WIlliams
HP/SS, HP/DM, HP/Various - NC-17 - Harry tells his lover an erotic fantasy story over five successive nights. This is presented as a story within a story: Harry is describing an erotic fantasy that is also an allegory if you will (don't groan - it's a lot more fun than Lit class ever was) and letting his imagination run wild. Author's Notes: Written for the Classic Canon Challenge I chose "The Story of O", which Harry is using as the basis for the story he is telling. Any structural oddities in the erotic tale are probably because I'm taking a story originally written in French, translated into English, and then changed to HP-verse with appropriate gender changes. Extreme content. If you have read/seen "The Story of O", you know what to expect. If you *haven't*, then you should be aware that this story involves Sadism/masochism and Dominance/submission in which the main character has given prior consent to be his lover's slave, but after that has two choices: accept whatever his lover dishes out or leave the relationship. Also, the submissive is not in this for sexual satisfaction or endorphin high's, but rather to explore the idea of complete submissiveness. It is not PC, it is not "Safe, Sane, Consensual" although it is probably RACK (risk-aware, consensual kink).
Deirdra's Comments: I loved this story so much that after I read it, I went looking for The Story of O. I found it, translated into English, but before I could finish reading it, it disappeared. If I could find it on the web again, I would read it. Very good story, though my women's rights mind and my hate of any man who controls his woman and the women who allow themselves to be controlled made me want to throttle the author (I'm not talking about Diana's version, I'm talking about the original Story of O.), I loved what little I read of it. Anyone who wants to buy the published story translated to English and send it to me is more than welcome. Lol. I do have the graphic comic version, though it's too much like a comic book to actually tell the story. I recommend this story to anyone who will listen.
Suitable Options - Olivia_Lupin
HP/DM - NC-17 - A Valentine's Day ficlet, featuring slightly!jaded!Harry and vulnerable!prickly!Draco. And schmaltz. But hey, it's Valentine's Day. Happy Hearts and Flowers.
Deirdra's Comments: Harry is completely oblivious to the fact that both he and Draco want each other. So, Hermione helps him. With a splendid Valentine's Day gift, she gives him more than he ever dreamed. Draco is adorably innocent in this story and so completely gone for Harry that I just want to cuddle him forever.
is Cheap - Sailor Grape
HP/DM - PG-13 - ...and lies are expensive. When a rumor starts that Harry and Draco are dating, it forces them to think about their own feelings. Is there any truth in the gossip?
Deirdra's Comments: I originally read this one because I love Green Day and, of course, this is a line from their song Walking Contradiction, which is one of my favourites by them. I don't actually know if that line inspired this fic at all, but it definitely inspired me to read it. Lol. Good story, don't remember what happens, not that I ever can, but they work things out for themselves by the end, as per usual.
Tattoo - Bleudiablo
HP/LM, HP/LV - NC-17 - When the Malfoys come to the Dursleys for dinner, they find an abused Harry and decide to take him away. The boy who lived is welcomed into the dark fold, definite Dark!Harry.
Deirdra's Comments: This is the fic that made me love this pairing. Actually, after reading this fic, I can see Harry with Tom as well. Hrm. Ok, but not all the time. But that can be hot, as long as he's not all....scaly and shit. There is a bit of Severitus in there, and it is very good. Quite long.
He Opened His Mouth - SeparatriX
HP/DM - PG-13 - Harry receives letters from a secret admirer over the summer after his fifth year.
Deirdra's Comments: Harry is starved for love, Draco wants to love him. Cases of mistaken identities, angst, love and happiness. Ok, bad summary from me, horrible comment, but it is rather good.
Tempus - Ravenna C Tan
HP/DM - NC-17 - Did you ever wonder where the Hogwarts disappearing corridors go--or when? When Harry Potter finds himself at Hogwarts in 1927 he never expected that the first person he would run into would be... Draco Malfoy?
Deirdra's Comments: Not really a conventional Harry/Draco fic. It's a Draco, but not the Draco. I still found it to be very well written and an excellent read, regardless of the fact that it wasn't the Draco Malfoy we all know and love to hate.
Tempus Fugit - Stylophile
HP/DM - R - A monumental cock-up in Potions means that Harry and Draco have more to contend with than mutual enmity. A journey of discovery, self-reflection and love.
Deirdra's Comments: Future!Harry and Draco. I seriously loved this story. I've read others like this one and I love them. Hogwarts era Harry and Draco have a potions accident and instead of viewing 20 minutes of their futures, they get sent there both mentally and physically. The potion should only last twenty minutes, but something went wrong, *cough, death eaters, cough* and they ended up getting stuck there for much, much longer. While there they realize they're lovers in the future, and grow closer while in their future bodies. Obviously, they hated each other when they took the potion. Anyhow, I loved it.
Ten Aprils - busaikko
SS/RL - NC-17 - Over a period of ten Aprils, Severus must find a way for Harry to defeat Voldemort and Remus must find a way for Severus to free himself from the past.
Deirdra's Comments: Remus is pregnant due to a horrible experiment. Severus is sent with him, armed with supplies and a Time Turner, to hide from the moon for the duration of the pregnancy so Remus can carry to term. They end up falling in love before their time is up.
Throwaways - RaeWhit
HP/SS - NC-17 - Disposable and dispensable…one a villain, one a hero. Severus and Harry share more than they ever would've imagined.
Deirdra's Comments: I really enjoyed this story. Severus is sent to prison for Dumbledore's death even though he was cleared of the charges. Harry is happy about it at first, and goes to visit every once in a while to gloat. After a while, he visits to spend time with him because he begins to realize it was wrong. Then he visits more and begins to feel more for the man. Eventually, he secures Sev's release, but under one condition: they have to bond. Severus moves in with Harry and is given his own section of the home for the duration of his stay. Their relationship evolves from there.
Tides That Bind & Breaking Ties - Leone and
HP/SS, RL/SB - NC-17 - (link to chapter index) Harry and Professor Snape needs to get married for Harry's protection. Well, that's what Dumbledore claims.
Deirdra's Comments: I linked both stories in one link because at ISF the sequel comes up as the same series when you search it. I know this story is good, even though I'm not sure of the details (Do you expect anything else from me? Lol.). Read it, I obviously liked it. I've read it more than once, but I don't remember it....yeah...
Time Changes Everything - Petunia Potter
HP/DM - R - The Ministry of Magic has put a new Temporal Portkey into production. Dumbledore has gotten approval for the sixth year students to try it out. What happens when Harry Potter travels 13 years into the future?
Deirdra's Comments: I quite liked this one. I wish the sequel would get finished a little faster so I could read it. What happens at the end of this story, is that Harry and Draco go back to their own time and forget everything that happened. Of course, you know that eventually they will remember all they experienced while in the future, but that won't happen for some time yet. The sequel is supposed to tell how the two of them actually got together. It is being written by a different author. Petunia Potter paints an outlined story of how they eventually found each other, but it will be interesting to see how Bryar Rose actually writes it. Once it is finished, and I have read it, I'll post the link here. Until then, read Time Changes Everything and be patient. Trust me, it's well worth reading.
Healing - Irana Potter Snape
HP/DM - NC-17 - Auror!Harry is sent to protect Draco when he receives death threats. The two become close, but Draco can't cope with the fact that he's attracted to Harry.
Deirdra's Comments: This story was rather good. I tend to enjoy this author's work, a lot of which I've read on ISF. This story is one I found at Skyehawke. The summary is good, but the story is much better than the summary gives it credit.
Time Out of Place - Cosmic
HP/DM - R - Harry wakes up with a throbbing head, but he soon realizes that a headache is the last thing he has to worry about. Suddenly, he is thrown into a world that is much like his own -- yet at the same time very different. Visions, Voldemort, potions, poison, fun, adventure and romance follow. And what part does Draco play in it all?
Deirdra's Comments: I absolutely loved this story. Seriously. It starts at the end, and ends in the beginning, and you'll know exactly what I mean when you read it. This story, like Underwater Light, is at Schnoogle. And Schnoogle (along with all other categories at Fiction Alley) has a tendancy to mess up formatting when you upload a story.I ended up reading this at her site, which is now linked in the Author Sites section of this page. You can also find her story, The Depths of Winter, which is also on this list, at her site. I happen to love her work.
Hurt - Bleudiablo
HP/SS - NC-17 - Harry starts to cut and when he makes those final cuts what will his lover do.
Deirdra's Comments: Very short. Very sad. Very meaningful. I cried for this one, too.
Too Wise to Woo Peaceably - McKay
HP/SS - NC-17 - Hey, kids, let's put on a show! aka Hogwarts meets Shakespeare.
Deirdra's Comments: This story used to have a sequel, which was shorter, but told of what transgressed between our two favourite people after the play. Unfortunately, the author decided to remove all the sequels to one-shots because she feels that they began as one-shots and should stay as one-shots. Don't bother emailing her and asking her for the sequel, she won't give it to you. And no, I'm not ragging on her for it. Even though I loved the sequel, I'm not bothered by this because, 1) they're her stories to do with what she likes and she owes us nothing, and 2) it's most definitely her prerogotive. You don't need the sequel to know what happened, use your imagination, yeah? I'll be adding a link to her site in the Author Sites section of this page, but this story is linked to the Restricted Section. It is very good. The basic idea is that after Voldemort's demise, Hogwarts puts on a play, Much Ado About Nothing, starring Severus and Harry as the main characters. They do it the old fashioned way with younger/more feminine males playing the female roles, so Harry gets cast opposite Severus as the female lead. I loved this story because the female and male leads in the play mirror Harry and Severus so well it's amusing. I found myself laughing through a lot of it and grinning through the rest, though at one or two parts I was quite distressed on Harry and Severus' part when there was a misunderstanding. You must read this, or I'll hurt you. A lot.
HP/DM - NC-17 - They've taken trains their entire lives, but they've never realized where the train rides take their lives...
Deirdra's Comments: Rape. Angst. Not a happy ending. Ok, perhaps it is in a way, but not really. Still good, though.
HP/DM - NC-17 - Five years after Voldemort's defeat, Harry returns to England to help re-open Hogwarts.
Deirdra's Comments: Such a good story. Really. I love this story. Post Hogwarts. Post War. Not really much of a relationship between Harry and Draco, but in the end, they're together. Good read.
True Minds - Tara Tory
HP/SS - PG-13 - Harry's not happy to hear that Severus Snape is dead. When Snape's widow shows up, Harry decides something is not right. Harry decides to take matters into his own hands.
Deirdra's Comments: Don't worry, he's not dead. Not completely. No, he's not a vampire. And yes, the woman is his wife. Just read it. It's quite worth it. No sex. Still good.
Years Later - Reba Williams
HP/OC, DM/OC, HP/DM - NC-17 - It’s been almost twenty years since Harry Potter graduated Hogwarts as the ‘Hero of the Wizarding World‘. It was near the end of his seventh year when he finally defeated Voldemort. The details of that battle can be found in any number of history books or in one of the hundreds of biographies about Harry’s Life, well at least the first twenty-five years of his life, nobody knows what happened to Harry the morning after his twenty-fifth birthday. But we are about to.
Deirdra's Comments: There really isn't much Harry/Draco in this story, though they do end up together in the end. (No, I'm not ruining anything in the story by telling you that, it was listed in the Harry/Draco section of AFF so you assume they do end up together, people.) I won't give away anything that happens, but for some odd, fucking reason, a lot of people write about HP characters going to Texas. Can anyone tell me why they fucking do that? I've lived there, it isn't that great, people! Damnit, I'm going to write one where they move to motherfucking New Jersey and they'll like it or I won't give them back to JK Rowling. -Huffs.- So there. -Bites her lip.- I did like this story, though.
Underwater Light - Maya
HP/DM - R - Featuring an extremely depressed Harry, in a war-torn wizarding world, about to get the shock of his life when he discovers that Draco Malfoy is slightly more important to him than he would have ever guessed. Including a very odd friendship, lots of angst, suspicions, conflicted loyalties, clueless Ron, on-the-warpath Hermione and two very messed-up boys.
Deirdra's Comments: I'm going to tell you this now, then I'll give you my opinions about the story itself. For some reason, I've found a lot of stories at Fiction Alley where the formatting is off. This is one of them. There were question marks in place of ' and ", so I read all of the chapters up to the 18th at Maya's site then switched back to Schnoogle to read the rest because it's not complete on her site. Now, on to my opinions about the story. I've been hearing about this story for quite some time now, and had it bookmarked to read for over a year. I finally got to it the other day. In the beginning, it didn't catch my attention, but then I got more into it, and Draco's attitude in the story helped a lot. He was utterly amusing, and definitely brightened the story for me. Only Draco would use the word 'crisis' as a verb. Lmao. You have to read this one, trust me.
Unnatural - Lexin and Tidmag
HP/SS - NC-17 - Far far away in an alternate universe, hermaphrodite Harry Potter gets into trouble. That's not ordinary trouble, but Trouble.
Deirdra's Comments: I just read this one again yesterday. It was very good. I love hermaphrodite Harry, honestly! There are a few good stories where he's a hermaphrodite, and this is one of them. There's one other that, when I read it again, I'll let you know what it is. Anyhow, in this one, hermaphrodites are considered royalty and Harry is as hermaphrodite. He falls in love with Severus, they have sex, Harry gets pregnant. Of course, Sev tries to be noble and tells Harry they can no longer be together. He doesn't know Harry is pregnant. In fact, I think by that point, Harry doesn't know either...Anyhow, a confrontation with Voldemort, Malfoy offering to carry Harry's bag and telling off anyone who doesn't treat Harry the way royalty should be treated (not to worry, Draco is just trying to cozy up to the most powerful person in the world, he doesn't actually like Harry), and various other things that everyone will love reading. A must read.
The Veela Enigma - jennavere
HP/DM - R - What if some of Draco's ancestors, pretending to be purebloods, concealed the truth about their veela heritage? You'd end up with one very confused Draco Malfoy, who's fallen head over heels in love with Harry Potter and has no idea why.
Deirdra's Comments: Another 'Draco is a Veela and Harry is his mate' story. But this one has a lot of humour in it, as does other stories I've read by jennavere. I swear, I laugh at her humour almost as much as I laugh at my own. Yes, I was serious. I find myself to be quite amusing. Anyhow, throw in one, yet to be defeated, Dark Lord, and there you have it. Oh, and Lucius is 'forced' into becoming a Veela with potions. Yeah, wait till you see who his mate is. No, I'm not telling.
& Piece – Keikokin
HP/DM, RW/BZ, SS/OMC – NC-17 - Harry spends the summer at Malfoy Manor.
Deirdra's Comments: I love a lot of stories that Keikokin writes. I've spoken to her before on the phone, as well as in i/m, and I love her to death. She has amazing ideas. Most of her stories are Harry/Lucius, but this is one that is Harry/Draco. If I don't have very many on here by her, I've probably not had the chance to add them as of yet. I don't remember the details (bear with me, I remember this one better than most), but I do know that Harry and Draco, as well as Ron and Blaise, are stuck at Malfoy Manor for their protection. Or Ron and Blaise visit because they're Harry and Draco's best friends then get permission from Dumbledore to stay. They end up staying during most, or all I can't remember, of the school year and decide to start a band. Harry and Draco fall in love, as do Ron and Blaise. Hermione is no longer their friend when she finds out they're gay, the little bitch. The original male character that Sev is with in this story is Lucius' twin brother, Raphael. I like him very much. Heh. Check it out for loads of kinky sex and amusing situations between the boys.
War Games - The Ruby Moth
HP/DM - NC-17 - The 7th Yrs Final Exam is a war game, and Harry learns his final lesson. Draco's only question is, how can he get into heaven?
Deirdra's Comments: Yeah, the summary makes it sound stupid. The story is much better than the summary gives it credit for, and much less schmoopy. Trust me, it's worth it. The basic idea is that the final exam is like a wizarding version of paintball. With Harry in the 'white zone'. He and Draco, though saying different words, end up pretty much saying the same thing and agreeing with each other. They become friends. It's a good story. I liked it.
Warmth of Life - Becky
HP/SS - NC-17 - Vampire!Snape, Donor!Harry. Not your typical vampire story.
Deirdra's Comments: Harry is the DADA professor. I believe he's about 30, or close to it. Severus is a vampire. Harry figures it out. It only took him 30 years. -Smirk.- Harry forces Severus to allow him to be his donor (Sev hasn't fed in a few decades or so) and Sev eventually gives in. No one knows but Dumbledore and Severus' physician that he's a vampire, but someone finds out and reports him to the Ministry, requiring him to register himself and his donor. The registration process includes a branding of the donor, which is bone deep, and Harry insists. Now, this story makes me hate Molly Weasley, not that I liked her much before I read it. She has Harry, who is in his thirties, commited. Because he's Sev's donor. Yeah. I hate that no one thinks Harry can make his own decisions. I mean, seriously! And in this story he's not only an adult, but a DADA Master. You'd think he'd know what he was getting himself into. Anyhow, you should read it. Yeah.
Way In - Kimberjingle
HP/DM - NC-17 - Post-Hogwarts. The Boy-Who-Lived is now a detective in London living the daily grind among muggles. When Draco Malfoy calls for a meeting with Hermione Granger to discuss a new threat to wizards of which he is a part, Harry and Draco find out about the next evil...and of each other. How far will one go to have what they've always wanted? Facing a struggle to survive a terminal illness takes its toll and sometimes love may not be enough.
Deirdra's Comments: Another one I loved by her. Some of the things that happen are confusing. First she writes it as if Harry has no idea what's going on, then later she says Harry made it all happen. Yeah, bear with it, it really is good. For a good while there, as with most of her fics, it's touch and go with the happiness. But everything always turns out good in the end. Oh, and Harry, as usual, has a Malfoy obsession in this one; he almost has an aneurism when he has all three Malfoys in his house. -Snickersnort.-
Welcome to the Real World - IamtheLizardQueen
HP/DM - R - A Harry/Draco romance, set post-Hogwart's in muggle London. Includes red mittens, linoleum, witty retorts, angst, love, dance clubs, strange friends, cooking shows, and coffee (not necessarily in that order)!
Deirdra's Comments: Oh, Merlin, this story is so fucking sweet. I actually found it from a fic search on a Yahoo group and decided that it sounded interesting enough to read for myself. I'll give you a rundown. Draco is held as a prisoner in his own home for two years by his father. His mother sets him free then kills herself. Draco has no knowledge whatsoever about the muggle world and how it works. He can't think of anywhere or anyone other than Harry. He shows up at Harry's door, broken, beaten and half dead. Harry lets him stay for as long as he needs....then they fall in love. It starts as friendship. Draco has to leave because Lucius is an asshole, but in the end, everything turns out right. Read this or suffer my wraith.
What Separates Us - Amy
HP/DM - NC-17 - (link to chapter index) Harry does something phenomnally stupid in Potions class, and the consquences are farther-reaching than anyone suspects.
Deirdra's Comments: I absolutely adore this story. It has to be one of my ultimate favourites, which is why I'm very surprised it never made it onto this list when I first made the site. I read this story for the first time about two years ago when it was first archived at ISF. I've read it many times since. I just...I can't explain to you how this story makes me feel, or what it does to me, but I can tell you that it is amazing and should be read many times and never forgotten. Pimp it, pass it around. It's excellent.
Wicked - desolate03
HP/DM - R - It's been ten years. A lot can change in ten years. Voldemort's dead and Harry's right around the corner. Can Draco help? Vampires, Werewolves, Evil Dumbledore oh my!
Deirdra's Comments: Funny story. I bookmarked this story months and months ago (I think it was back in April), but never read it. Most likely because I forget I bookmark stories almost immediately afterwards if I don't read them within a few days. I forget what they're about and, therefore, lose interest in them. Until reminded or I have an urge to go through all past bookmarks and read stories I've had on my list for over a year. Yes, I have bookmarks that are over a year old. Anyhow, I was talking to my wonderful beta, and she told me I had to read this story and put it on my recs page. Well, here I am, doing just that. The story itself probably wouldn't have been enough for me to read it, just because I'm picky about what I read (though I would have gotten to it eventually...in a year, lol). The way she was explaining it and describing it to me, though, made me want to read it all the more. So, I did. Took me about one day to read. (I believe I started it yesterday when I returned home at about 4:30 pm and just finished it within the past hour.) It's not as bad as some people would think it is. I mean, sure, most HP vampire stories are so lame, you want to bind and gag the author for fear of them ever writing again. But this one is good. It skips through time a lot, but until the epilogue, it only really skips a few weeks or months at a time over the course of about a year. Be prepared, though, for the epilogues are twelve years after the end of chapter 24. Both are twelve years after, not the first epilogue being twelve years after chapter 24 and the second being twelve years after the first epilogue. The first pretty much tells you where Harry and Draco are, how they are. The second does the same for Remus, Severus and Soren. I currently have another story by this author open to read. Though it isn't from the same 'universe', I'm sure it will prove to be just as entertaining as this one was. Oh, and by the way, you would usually think Harry and Draco's positions to be reversed. Well, at least I would.
With a Dragon's Heart - Roedhunt
HP/DM - NC-17 - This story deals with disturbing issues such as rape, self-mutilation and molestation. Draco and Harry both have abusive pasts and are trying to deal with them in everyday life and soon turn to each other.
Deirdra's Comments: I will warn you that this story talks about some very disturbing things. Like molestation. I think it could have ended a little better, that she could have written a little more, but it was a very good story. Now, you all know I love Malfoycest. Well, not in this story. There's just something wrong with it when Draco is not completely a willing participant. I understand a lot more than most might think about the type of molestation in this story (stop thinking that, dorks, I was never in Draco's position) and I can see why he feels the way he does. Now, were he to continue feeling that way and not realize, or be told it was wrong, that would be different. Actually, I don't think it was Draco's reaction that bothered me about it, but how Lucius felt about it and how he handled it. That he felt it was his right, his privelige. That Draco belonged to only him. That was my problem with the situation. I do not condone incest or molestation in any way, shape or form. In the real world. In fandom, it's completely different. As long as it's consentual and Draco doesn't think it's wrong and Lucius doesn't act like a fucking nutjob. Thank you. -Bows.- Enjoy the story.
Youngest Resident of Hogwarts – alliekatgal
HP/SS – NC-17 - Harry discovers that his muggle girlfriend from the previous summer wants to put their child up for adoption. Instead, Harry brings the baby back to Hogwarts, and finds Snape to be unexpectedly helpful.
Deirdra's Comments: Very good story. I never remember details unless I've just read the story, but this one I remember some. Harry brings the baby back to Hogwarts and Severus becomes very involved in both the infant and Harry's lives. He and Harry get together eventually. Duh. I do remember that in one part, Harry's ex wants to see the child so he and Severus bring it to meet her. While there, they do a spell and it turns out that she's a distant Snape relative, so Severus is related to the child in ways other than its adoptive father. Personally, I want to kill the mother of the baby in this story for being such a sanctimonious, selfish bitch.
Author Site Recs
She wrote Left My Heart and is working on the sequel Surrender the Grey. She not only has HP fics, but Star Wars fics as well and a huge recs list, not to mention the H/D post-Hogwarts list she has. It's huge, over 600 fics listed. All off-site.
She wrote one of my favorites, Lacy Things. It's not my usual pairing, but it was one of the first series I ever read. I started reading HP slash with Remus/Sirius and Remus/Severus. She also wrote many other fics that are awesome and you can find most, if not all, at her site.
I've read a few of her stories, but I love her site nonetheless. One of my personal favorites that she wrote is called The Pandora Box Complex. You can find it above or on her site.
Most of her finished fics are linked above in the fic recs, but there are two finished ones (I didn't like them much) which you can find from her site. She also has a few WIP's and some other things, like artwork (which isn't hers) and some recs of her own.
(A Turn of the Page...)
Oh my, what can I say about her? She wrote A Bit of All Right, which is part of a series called Hiding Under the Ninth Earth. Epithalamium is the sequel and it's just about finished, but there are about four or five other stories in the series that are in various stages of finished. You should most definitely check it out. She also houses other people's fics and offers a Yahoo!Group you can join if you would like updates for when fics are added or updated.
Ptyx wrote a lot of stories that I like. Most of them are Harry/Severus and, in fact, I can't seem to remember reading anything by them that wasn't Harry/Severus. Baphomet I and II, In Your Dreams and Quetzal Island, The Only Witchcraft, The Gothic Series, The Mandala-Verse, and To the Gates of Death and Beyond are all well known stories written by this author. All of them are very good and one or two are linked in the story recs section above.
Death Eaters at the Malfoy Estate, one of the funniest stories I've read in my life can be found here and only here. There are other stories written by Grindylowe at the site, but DEAT is the best there. It's been forever, probably years, since it was last updated and it's not finished, but there are six parts posted and the seventh part should be up eventually. (I plan to email Grindylowe and ask if the story will be updated, I'll let you know what I'm told when I get an email back.) I don't think there are many more than seven parts, perhaps eight, but the story includes a cross-dressing Voldie, a young Lucius, a time travelling Hermione, a drug-addicted Narcissa, a flaming Barty Crouch Jr., a voluptuous assistant who makes and sells drugs, a Potions lab in the basement of Malfoy Manor where potions are made for the Dark Lord and all his Death Eaters, and Severus there right in the middle of it all, wearing the Pants of Eros and frog-like goggles, making and selling drugs, betraying Lucius and the Dark Lord, and attempting to get some goddamn sleep while being pursued, very persistently, by one Narcissa Malfoy who has to lick her arm to get off. No, I'm not kidding. Go read it. Heh.
Ok, so Lizardspots doesn't write, but she does draw, and this link takes you to her site. She drew artwork for DEAT, among other things, and she has some lj icons as well. Some of her art is PG or the like and some of it is adult. There is a lot of commission pieces for various stories throughout the fandom, and there's always the possibility that a fic I've rec'd here will have artwork by her at her site. It's well worth visiting if you enjoy looking at artwork.
This is the site where you can find the original Severitus Challenge. Believe it or not, this well known challenge is named for the person who came up with it. Now, however long it's been since the challenge came about, when someone mentions Severitus, people assume the story written that is Severitus has Severus as Harry's true father. It's not a true Severitus unless it has the stipulations from the original challenge, but most authors who write stories where Severus is Harry's father mention the challenge in their summary, saying that it's similar to a Severitus, though not completely adhering to the challenge. I plan to write a Severitus one day.
ShivaniBlue's site where you can find all of their fics. Induction, Infinite Shades of Grey and Crumbling Pedestal. Two of the three are Harry/Severus and one is Harry/Draco. Most of the stories on the site are Harry/Severus, all good. I love Induction, which is why it's rec'd. The others I haven't read yet. Check it out.
This is Cosmic's site. All of Cosmic's fics are here, and in lovely formatting. I love the layout of the site, I think it's quite pretty. You should check it out, even if you've read all the stories elsewhere.
Beware of Darkness
Carawen's site, home of The Beauty in Song. I just learned this within the past few days, but The Beauty in Song inspired Carawen to write more, write a series. I haven't read the others in the series yet, but there's another three stories written already and two more on the way. They sound interesting, and it has been dubbed 'The Music Series'. I look forward to reading the new stories.
The Mirror of Sterces
This is Alexandra Dane's site. Now, some of you might be wondering where she is. She's at this link. I have yet to read the stories she's written, but I nearly killed myself looking for them when Detention closed. Yeah, don't get me started on that... Anyhow, I believe all of the stories are Harry/Severus, but you'll have to go and find out for yourself. I know there are at least two there that I plan on reading.
frogslayr's site. I was wondering where frogslayr went. If you notice, the links for Lucid Dreaming and Bring on the Night have changed. Yeah, because they can no longer be found anywhere except frogslayr's site. I looked everywhere for about three days straight. Nothing. So, I posted a fic search on various groups (I'm sure they all hate me) and finally, someone sent me the link to the author's site. Yeah, all of frogslayr's stuff is here. Check it out.
Cherish the Muse
Keikokin's site. I swear, I thought this girl wrote a lot of stories just from what I've seen posted at archives. Well, I was wrong. She has written so much more than what she posts at archives. It's not even funny. Seriously. She's written so many stories, that she has categories on her site for Harry/Draco and Harry/Lucius, and each of them still have over 50 stories. Actually, there's something like 85 in the Harry/Draco category, and I thought she wrote more Harry/Lucius than anything else! I was wrong. So, go check out her site. It's great. Runs on eFiction, but I'm pretty sure you wouldn't be able to join if you tried because it's a closed archive.
This is McKay's site.Every single thing she's written that's still on the web can be found here. It's a cute layout, and also on Slashcity. It's worth checking out if you have a minute.
This archive houses both het and slash HP fics, but they don't have any other fandom. Their policy is 'don't like, don't read'. I absolutely love this archive and I visit multiple times a day. They have the option which, if you're a member and you like a certain WIP fic, you can add the story to your favorites list and you'll get an email every time it's updated. Handy, that.
Gods, I love TSS. They only have HP slash fics, both m/m and f/f. If you have a fic that has a slash pairing as a main pairing, this is where you would go. Stories can have instances of het, as long as it's not a main pairing or the story doesn't revolve around said het pairing. Trust me, best fucking archive ever. They hold contests every once in a while (as does HP Fandom) and the quality of their fics, for the most part, is excellent. I visit this one more times a day than HPF. Since TSS shut down then reopened, the have two new archives (linked below). The original TSS archive now only houses stories with a Harry/Draco main pairing.
The Silver Snitch II
The first of the two new TSS archives. This one houses only Harry/Severus main pairing stories. All of the stories that were housed at TSS were moved while they were closed, and all the Sev/Harry stories that were already at the archive were moved here.
The Silver Snitch III
There was only supposed to be one new archive, originally, when TSS shut down. But, they realized that having two new archives might benefit them more. How do I know this? Because I was the one who installed and help set up the two new archives at TSS, did most, if not all, of the php work for the new archives (including some cool new features for the original archive), and, in general, worked with Michelle, Mandi and Maggie behind the scenes for the many months TSS was down. I now help validating stories at the Harry/Draco archive. This archive is Bertie Botts Every Other Pairing. Meaning, anything that has a slash pairing that isn't either Harry/Draco or Harry/Sev as the main pairing, including femmeslash, is found here. Worth checking out, just like the other two.
Twin Corp (ETC)
This is another great archive. It has three different archives in one. After Class which is Harry/Snape, Beloved Enemies which is Harry/Lucius, and Canis Major which is Harry/Sirius. All three have a seperate Yahoo!Group. (LuciusxHarry is the Beloved Enemies mailing list which you can find below.) They don't have too many fics, but the ones they do have are well written.
This is a closed community. Which means you have to know someone to get an account there. Another member has to recommend you, but that doesn't stop you from reading, enjoying and posting reviews. You don't have to be a member to do any of that.
ISF is run on a much different archive program than the others mentioned. They run on either storyline or eFiction. This one is quite simple, though sometimes it can cause more problems than not. You don't join the archive, in fact you can't, but as long as you post with the exact same author name every time you upload a new story, you have something similar to a profile if someone searches by author. They measure in file size instead of word count, but the stories are generally very good. They house over 1000 stories, all slash.
This is a new one for me, I haven't really explored much, but I know it's strictly Harry/Draco. From what I can tell they have a pretty good selection of fics, but, as I said, I haven't looked around too much. Head on over and look for yourself.
This is the sister site of The Hex Files. It's every pairing that's not Harry/Draco. It's not very busy, but then again, neither is The Hex Files. It's rare when a story is posted or updated, but it is a good site, just like Hex Files.
Another archive that houses more than just HP fics, but they have a large selection of slash even if it is difficult to find. I visit this one every day as well to chec for new fics. The page takes a long time to load, but that's because the archive allows the authors to upload images to their fics and summaries. It makes it a pain in the ass to check the archive, but as I said, their fics are generally worth it if you can catch one when it's finished.
This site is pretty decent, though I refuse to post there myself. I believe you have to be a member to read the NC-17 fics, but it takes no time to register. They have a decent selection and, as long as you're logged in, you can tell the search engine what information to provide when you run a search. Whether or not you want to know the word count of a fic, the rating, etc. They have both het and slash.
This site is purely Malfoy. Any story that involves a Malfoy as a main character can be found here. It's owned by sycophanthex, who also owns the archive listed directly beneath this one, as well as many others which you can find from the main site. I'm sure you can figure out how to get there. You have to be a member of the archive to read the fics.
This is a HP slash site. Both m/m and f/f. You also have to be a member to read the fics.
Since Detention was taken down, this site is replacing it, from what I hear. It was up years ago but was taken offline because of Australia's new literotica laws or something. When Detention was taken down, this archive was put back on the web to 'replace' it. From what I hear, Detention was taken down for some retarded reason like the owner got sick of listening to offended people or not wanting to take people's shit anymore. I don't know the details, but what I was told sounded like a stupid reason to me. Right, if you're the owner of Detention and you read this, don't go off on me. The reasons I was told seemed childish to me. Deal with it.
Ahh, AFF. They have only R and NC-17 fics in many pairings. You can find both het and slash there. In the HP category alone there is sub-categories for specific pairings. Great site, though the search is shoddy, but I've found on the whole that the fics written there, except for a selected few, are written horribly. Take your chances if you like, I've found a few there that were very good.
You may have wondered why I didn't link to FF.Net. There is a reason for that. I refuse to go there, post there, read fics from there, or rec the site in general. Why, you ask? Because I once had an account there and, without warning, they deleted me. Not one or two of my stories, my whole account. You would think that they would at least give a gal some warning, right? No. And when I emailed them to ask why they never answered me. I'm not the only person who has had this problem. In fact, there are many people out there, authors just like me, who refuse to go there as well because they've been slighted. If you wish to go there and read, post, etc., I won't hold it against you. But I refuse to endorse their shite.
and Harry Slash Fiction
This is my Lucius/Harry group. There are over 700 members and, although we're slow right now, we have an archive, which no one is fucking using, and many hopes for the future of the group.
Harry Slash Group
Well, a Draco/Harry group. They post fics, chat, yadda yadda yadda. Check it out, loves.
This was the mailing list for the Glass Reflect archive, which has been temporarily closed for ages. PSA, the Potter Slash Archive. The members still post fics to the mailing list, but I have no effing idea when or if the site will ever be back up again.
A Harry/Snape group. Discussion, fics, bullshit.
The Beloved Enemies mailing list. Excellent Lucius/Harry fics, I've read almost every one of the fics in the files section. They have fics at the archive that aren't on the list, and vice versa. As it goes without saying for all groups/mailing lists on this list, you have to be a member.
This group isn't just HP. But it is a lot of rough sex. You have to be of legal age to join, but it's worth it. Many rape/non-con, BDSM, general rough and nasty kinky munkey sex fics here.
As it says, Snape and Lupin. Good fics if you like the pairing. Look for Always by Geri (a series) which you can also find at ISF.
Black and Remus Lupin
I don't really frequent here anymore, but I'm sure they have lovely fics and shtuff. Check it out if you like.
That's it. If you have questions or comments about any fics or whatnot listed here (like a broken link or something), email me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
